The Boardroom Battle

Victor's jaw tightened as he stood in front of the boardroom's massive glass windows, the city's skyline glowing behind him. The room was filled with tension, thick, oppressive tension that seemed to crackle with every heartbeat. He turned away from the view, facing the men and women seated around the long table, many of them familiar faces. But there was a chill in the air, one that hadn’t been there before. And at the head of that cold wind was Maria.

She sat confidently, her hands folded neatly in front of her, the faintest smirk playing on her lips. It wasn’t just confidence, there was a challenge in her eyes, daring him to make a move. And Victor knew, in that moment, that the battle he’d been avoiding was about to start.

“You’ve grown complacent, Victor,” Maria’s voice cut through the heavy silence like a sharpened blade. Her tone was calm, almost mocking. “Your leadership, while once innovative, has become… stagnant. The board can see that, can’t they?”
