One hundred and nine: The hierarchy of the world

The sky grew darker over their heads. China couldn't help but to look wearily at her surroundings. Houses and shops appeared scantier and scantier until there was none in sight anymore.

What is with this secluded area he is taking me to? China asked herself. If he weren't her friend or rather, if they weren't friends before, she would have believed he had had something bad planned out for her.

But she still kept at alert. The only audible noises was the sound of their shoes as they kissed the earth. So many times she wanted to ask where he was taking her but she would tell herself to at least trust her friend.

"I'm not going to kill you." Ivan said like he had read her mind. Though it was easy to tell from the looks on her face. Her mind was like an open book placed in front of him to read easily.
