Chapter one hundred and sixty three: The selection
It took him ten minutes before he spotted the portal and when he had sight on it he realized it was only a matter of seconds before the portal was completely sealed. He hastened with heightened hopes but on reaching the portal he crashed to the floor. He jerked back to his feet as he attempted going through several times but his attempts were all in vain. The portal was open but because of the shield Thomas placed on it no one could either go in or out.

Ben knew that they must have tampered with the portal but he never gave up hope. He kept yelling and struggling to make it through and at every moment spent the portal got more tin. Ben returned to his human shape. He looked behind at the numerous aliens racing towards him with great zeal to rend him apart.

“Thomas!” He yelled, still struggling but there was no response. He went on and on until he became weary. The portal was already three times smaller than what a human could go through. Seeing there was no help Ben broke down in frus
