While Tom and Lisa were still in the car heading to the hospital where Lisa worked, their minds were occupied with worry and anticipation. Lisa's job as a nurse had always demanded her utmost attention, leaving little room for distractions. However, today was different. Today, Emily had planned to deliver a painting to Father John at the local church.

As the traffic blurred by them, Tom's pocket began to buzz with an incoming call. He fumbled to retrieve his phone, glancing at the caller ID. It was Emily. His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly answered, his voice laced with caution, "Hey, Em, is everything okay?"

Emily's voice sounded distant and slightly muffled through the phone. She responded, "Hey, Dad, I just wanted to let you know that I'm on my way to the church to deliver the painting to Father John. He requested it urgently, and I couldn't say no."
