In the world of Fallen Online, anyone can learn a skill if they meet the requirements. However, learning skills was a different issue. Skills could be learnt in one of three ways, a skill book, being taught the skill or learning it through action.

Skill books had to be bought, dropped or found in treasure chest some he had knowledge of. Right now after distributing his status he left the Inn and went to a restaurant it was shut down but there was a man inside.

He was human his body ancient and sickly, "I'm closed."

Apex sweatdropped as he walked, "I know sir ahem I was wondering if maybe you offered to teach lessons?"

'Another wanna be chef,' the elder chef looked him up and down, "fine follow me," he got up using a cane, Apex nodded following him to the back of the restaurant to a kitchen, "open the cabinets and take out the ingredients."

He followed that man's orders, all the experience from real life and his past would shine now.

Apex was a master in his past actually becoming one of the top two hundred chefs in the game. Before the elder could say anything he had properly laid out the ingredients.

"I have some experience if you'd like I can show you and you can assess me," he offered to the elder the man in question let out a sigh before nodding, "fine show me your skills."

Apex smiled and began to make the perfect steak he had learned from his father and the recipe he went for was something a little different with extra ingredients from the kitchen, the perfect steak he based it a season and fried the smells and juices danced around the room.

The elder's eyes lit up with life, "t-this your skills are magnificent!"

He quickly covered his mouth letting him continue part of the dish was presenting, 6 minutes and he did a perfect medium-rare steak and presented it to the chef.

"Please take this book this is my recipe book I have travelled cough!" he couldn't finish coughing up a  mouth of blood, of course, Apex went to his side, "Ah my time is nearing."

He stood up and sat down handing Apex his book, "this is the recipe book I've travelled across this great world in order to learn the wonders of food sadly I got sick along the way and am reduced to this state, please take this and travel for me."

Apex held the book tightly before nodding, "I will but first let me get you somewhere safe."

The man gave a small smile and accepted his help Apex took him to the library apparently the librarian was his granddaughter, it was a great way to get inside but he couldn't buy any skills.

Outside they opened the book and read the recipes. He was also allowed access to the kitchen and its supplies since it was closing.

He looked at the steak he made for the man.

Currency exchange was 1 silver is equal to 0.5 Euros. But more importantly, he gained a title that was a worthy feat in itself. Titles were difficult things to acquire and he only knew three he could get.

"Phew, level 3 at last," He wiped his forehead before a notification appeared in front of him, "Hm?"

Elsewhere inside a cave was a group of four fighting the field boss Beruga, one was a dragonkin tank an elf healer and two fox beast women they thought coordinated their attacks but once Beruga killed their tank they retreated.

"Hah, dammit, how are we meant to kill this thing!?" The healer was first to complain, across from her a silver fox beast woman shrugged, "I don't know, but we should try to level up some more when Arnold comes back."

She sat down glancing at her red friend who wasn't listening to the two, "Guys you need to check this out," she sent her screen to the two.

"What!?"

In the next moments, the game's channels buzzed with activity as a bidding price came to be of the very meal Apex prepared.

Later Apex went to a training area hitting his spear against the training dummies he was practising his spear skill, the basic thrust, swing and leg sweep even flying which was a challenge for the beginning player but not for him.

Using wings was akin to sucking your stomach in and pushing your arms forwards that feeling in the back was how it felt to move his wings, something he was accustomed to.

The next skill to learn would be the hardest for others, mana control, this was the basis of any and all magic inclusive skill without this you can cast fireballs lightning bolts or even small mana bullets.

Those who are expert meditators can learn this skill with some ease those who chose the elf race get this from the start.

Calm he emptied his mind of difficult tasks with the regrets trying to surface regrets he would soon solve he felt his feathers tingle a feeling similar to floating in the water, he held onto that feeling for as long as he could.

One minute was enough for him to learn the skill.

He closed the message replying he wasn't interested in joining a guild but if she wanted more from him, he'd make it but that price he set on was ₤100 for each which meant in total he'd get ₤24,900. He also set it for within 24 hours, as it would require time and would also help raise his skill.

Like that the contract was made in the system, afterwards, he distributed his attributes,

He felt power rushing through him and the weight on his shoulders vanish, "Alright I need to reach level 10 before anyone else and learn the final lifestyle skill I need here. I also need to buy supplies since things are cheaper here than in the city."

He nodded to himself, agreeing if he wasted his time to get the other skills he planned, it is better to prioritize the limited work first than the others later. Before he attempts fighting the field boss, he had to prepare.

"Thank god I gained that title even one gold would've been enough."
