Chapter 5

"Are you planning to take that scumbag as your wife?" She eyed.

He didn't want to talk about it. Staring at the wristwatch in his hands, he quickly said, hiding the sigh that was hiding on his face.

"Mom, I am going to be back really soon." He responded.

Henry stormed off and got into the room. Getting dressed as soon as he could, he soon left for the party.

The venue of the party glittered from afar. Even though they still had almost thirty minutes to begin, most of them had already arrived for the party.

What for the others that were yet to arrive? Their cars raced on the street as though they were in some sort of marathon.

"Get out of the way you scumbag! Not like the heir is going to favor you anyways." Drivers on the verge of breaking out yelled at each other.

At some point, Henry Could not help but smile.

"Stop here." He turned over to the guard who drew a stop with a confused expression on his face.

"I am going to highlight here." Henry further stated his intentions.

The driver shivered, thinking that he had done something wrong to make the heir angry. His heart raced and a drop of sweat soon transited to a thousand.

"Please young master, please forgive me if I have done anything wrong." He pleaded, not daring to look into Henry's face.

Henry could not help but chuckle before going ahead to calm him down.

"You have done absolutely nothing wrong okay? I just want to highlight this."

"But." The driver was about to pin out but he quickly cut the driver off, knowing what he was planning to say.

"No buts. My mother isn't the one here with you. I just came back after a hectic lifestyle, have you all suddenly forgotten who is the boss here." He posed an expression on his face.

The heart of the guard raced even faster.

"Okay, young master." There was nothing he could do.

Henry came down from the card and walked towards the venue of the event. Getting into it, he could not help but marvel at the structure.

"Oh my God." He heard a familiar voice from behind making him turn around and pause.

Seeing the person that was before him brought out the pain of the past that he thought he was over with already, leading to a heavy heart.

It was his wife's cousin, Sia.

She was watching the video of when Henry was picked up by the guards which had already gone viral online.

Her face was already widened with a blush with her left hand on her cheek. "I wish I had a husband like this." She could not hide her intentions.

"Or maybe you could get one here. There are only rich and influential people at this party you know and you are also beautiful. What will make any man not fall for your charm?"

"Any stupid man," Henry muttered under his breath.

They seemed to read his thoughts and his aura attracted them. Their eyes paired up only to meet with his innocent gaze.

Linda frowned at the sight of it and Madam Catherine's face twisted.

"What the heck is he done doing here?" James muttered hatefully.

Linda leaned forward with a smile on her face. "What are you doing here?" She was trying her best to keep her voice low to control her anger.

"What am I doing here? I thought we were divorced already. Do I still need a permit from you to go wherever I asked?" He replied nonchalantly.

For the first time, he noticed that Kevin was wearing the fake of what he was putting on. He smiled in pity for the Guild family.

How pathetic.

"And he even had to put on some fake clothing," Sia added.

"How do you know it's fake?"

"Isn't that obvious, Kelvin is putting on the real of course, not like you will be able to afford it in the first place?"

Kelvin moved closer to them with a smirk on his face, pretending that he just noticed Henry there for the first time.

"My, my, look who we have here. If it isn't the legendary Henry. The other time, who was acting so though, who knew that you would have gone through such a risk to see your ex."

"Poor kid." He tapped his tongue in pity.

"If you had just told me earlier, I would have in fact given the both of you some time together. But aren't you one proud slut."

Lady Catherine was so angry that she knew that talking to Henry was going to flare up her anger.

So instead, she turned around over to her daughter.

"I don't know what he is doing here or how he even got here but he has to leave at the right moment, Linda.

You know too well how sensitive this issue is. If we want this cooperation, we have to put up our best act. And I don't think seeing a madman with us is going to help matters." She muttered.

She spun her head around looking so embarrassed. Even though everyone in the hall was busy with their matters and didn't even care about what was going on there, she could feel their stares piercing through their skin.

Linda nodded her head. She was the one that got married to him in the first place so she had to treat his mess.

There was an obvious frown on her face, as she opened her mouth to speak but before she could make a sentence, Henry chimed in as though he was already reading her mind.

"You want me to leave?" He began.

Her hands were clenched with anger at his attitude but she put forward a fake smile.

"Please do us the honor of not causing us any further embarrassment." She snarled.

But with his hands crossed over his chest, he knew that he was not ready to do anything

"The last time I checked. We are no longer together so you don't have that right. You can sink your head into the wall for all I care but this Henry ain't going anywhere." He replied.

Everyone was stunned by his sudden audacity. The Henry that they knew was always used to be timid.

"I knew that he was only pretending all these while. Now that you guys are divorced, he is now showing his true colors." James added.

"Do you realize how crucial this party is to the family?" She fired. "Can you have some sense of dignity for once?"

She expected Henry to be taken aback by her words but none of that was happening yet. She frowned.

"Then you leave me with no option than to get you out of this place." She glared but Henry could only smile, wanting to see where all of that was going to lead to.

"Try." He replied.

Linda walked over to the guards who were standing from afar and called them over. They came quickly, stunned by the beauty that lay before them.

"Who is causing you trouble?" They inquired, wanting to do away with the pest as soon as possible

But they were taken aback by the blurry shadows of Kelvin who seemed to have taken their only chance.

But they could get some other form of reward if they did their jobs well.

"Him. I am sure that he has stolen his way into this place. He used to be our slave and came here just to beg him. But I can't watch him cause trouble for our family." She snorted.

"Slave?" Henry was not surprised at her words, it was something that she was not incapable of saying.

He already knew the rules that the guards could not chase anyone out without the permission of a higher authority since he had made those rules himself.

The guard hesitated for a while getting Lady Catherine confused and angry at the same time.

"Huh, what are you still waiting for? Or did he pay you guys to get into this place? Because the last time I remember, this place is heavily guarded so that's the only logical explanation."

The guard already knew that was going to be a really big stain on his personality so he quickly objected to the fact.

"I have nothing to do with him, I'm just seeing him for the first time." The guard was left on the fence, shivering.

"Then you should do away with him already."

He pulled off a load of cash that only Henry and the guard could see and he smirked.

The guard was petrified at the amount and turned over to Henry drenched with sweat. His feet were stabled effortlessly on the floor without the slightest bit of worry.

"You know the rules," He began. "Are you going to sell your concise?"

But he knew that this time, it was more than selling his conciseness, it was only choosing the lesser of two evils.

"You will have to leave." He said to him but Henry only chuckled, "in your dreams." He responded.

Even the guard was shocked at his extremely firm words.

"Just take a look at him, he has the guts to disregard the whole of the Jade family. So much audacity." James growled under his breath, wanting to give Henry a smirk across the face but he was quickly prevented by Lady Catherine.

"No need to waste your precious sweat on him sooner or later, he is going to be off from this place."

The guard tried to force him off from the place but then, a stunning Lady dressed lik

e a banker walked in and bowed.

"Young Master, I was asked to get your presence." The lady muttered to the astonishment of everyone that was gathered there.
