Chapter 3: First Battle

Raff's left shoulder was pulled up until his body followed Jeal and his party members. The five of them arrived at the garbage dump in Norn City. Jeal pushed Raff's body until it hit the wall of the garbage dump.

"This is the only place for you!" Jeal taunted with a laugh.

"A weakling like you doesn't deserve to be an adventurer!" said Lot.

"It turns out he's really stupid. No wonder he dared to look you in the face back at the guild," said Kon.

"Yes. He doesn't know that the person he's staring at is a level 6 adventurer!" said Jeal while taking the axe on his back.

"Prostrate yourself in front of me. Then I'll let you leave here," Jeal ordered. He drove the axe in his right hand into Raff's neck.

"For over twenty years I have often been insulted and threatened. But just once, I have never bowed down to them begging for forgiveness," Raff replied while standing up fearlessly.

"Hahaha .. you have courage too," said Soy.

"He doesn't know that the adventurer before him has been an adventurer for two years," Lot said with a laugh.

"Just chop him up Jeal, like the goblin you chopped up this morning!" said Kon.

"If that's your choice. Then the people of Norn City will receive the news that you were killed by a bandit gang!" said Jeal.

The axe in Jeal's hand swung towards Raff's neck. But Raff agilely dodged by lowering his body down. At the same time he also swung his punch aiming for Jeal's stomach. The movement was so fast that Jeal was unable to dodge.

Raff's punch made an impact sound when it hit Jeal's stomach. Jeal's endurance was strong enough that he only grimaced. Raff himself also realized that his strength was below average to begin with.

"Argh!" Jeal suddenly shouted in pain while taking a few steps back. His three friends were surprised to hear it. Raff's right fist was already covered in flames.

"He mastered the fire element?" muttered Kon.

"Son of a bitch!" snapped Jeal.

Jeal gripped his axe tightly, as the wind element coated his axe. He immediately jumped to target Raff's body with his axe slash. But Raff managed to dodge by jumping to the side. Jeal's slash hit the wall of the garbage dump until it shattered.

"The wind element is as sharp as the axe?" Raff muttered. He saw the garbage disposal wall first hit by the wind element slash that coated Jeal's axe.

Jeal darted after Raff again, but this time his body suddenly burst into flames in midair. Jeal screamed in pain and rolled on the ground to put out the flames on his body. Soy and Jeal's other friends were even more shocked.

"Trap Master. This skill is indeed suitable for me," thought Raff. With his skill he can make traps invisible using his magic power, he can place them as he pleases. The magic will only be visible when someone touches it.

"What happened?" said Soy.

"I don't understand either," replied Lot.

"I didn't see he use his magic. But it's impossible for Jeal's body to just burn up," said Kon.

"You've chosen the wrong opponent. Give me all the money you have, if you want to leave this place safely!" said Raff.

"I've been meaning to say that sentence for a long time. It's really fun to do it," Raff thought.

"No kidding!" shouted Soy as he pulled out his sword. He ran to attack Raff. But suddenly his feet slipped so that his body was unbalanced. Since earlier Raff had made an invisible water magic trap around Jeal's three friends.

"Argh!" Soy screamed loudly as his face hit Raff's fire magic trap. His head burned until his hair was gone. Kon moved his hand. Jeal's body and Soy's body were now enveloped in bright light.

"The healing magic of the light element. No wonder they want to take that weak-looking guy in their team," Raff muttered.

"Die!" shouted Lot who jumped into the air and was ready to attack Raff using his claws.

But Lot's body also caught fire when it hit the fire magic trap that Raff made. Lot's body bounced in shock. His body did not burn because he hurriedly rolled on the ground until Raff's magic fire was extinguished. Raff immediately moved his hand towards Kon who was still healing Soy and Jeal's wounds.

"Wait! We won't bother you anymore," Kon said. He realized that Raff was not an ordinary person even though he had just become an adventurer.

Raff just smiled. a fireball came out of his right hand towards Kon. Kon quickly canceled his magic and intended to dodge. But his foot slipped because he stepped on a puddle of water from Raff's trap. Kon's body fell and was hit by the fireball until he screamed as his robe caught fire.

Lot immediately jumped on Kon and tore off his burning clothes. But Raff did not let him. He set Lot and Kon's bodies on fire again from a distance. Lot and Kon screamed for mercy. Raff just smiled. He only stopped his magic after Kon and Lot fainted.

"Hehe .. it turns out it feels so good when you hear bad people like them screaming for mercy," said Raff.

"Mercy.." said Soy softly. He was the only one who was still conscious. His body looked full of burns because Kon's healing had not yet been completed.

"Give all your money if you still want to live!" Raff ordered.

"O-k!" replied Soy. He immediately went to Jeal's body and took ten silver coins from his pants pocket.

"T-this is sir," said Soy.

"Is this all?" asked Raff.

"I swear, sir. That's all the money we have. So far we have only taken the lowest quests. We dare not take heavy quests because our level is still low. Only Jeal and Lot have level 6, we only have level 3. If you don't believe me then please search for yourself," Soy replied.

"Tch! It turns out they are just weak adventurers," Raff grumbled.

"Argh!" screeched Soy as his neck was kicked by Raff. Soy's body slammed to the ground until he was unconscious.

"Boring. It turns out that they do that just to look strong so as not to be bullied by the stronger and not underestimated by others," Raff thought as he walked away.

Raff remembered he had also done the same thing when he entered high school after always being bullied in middle school. But as a result he was even more tormented because he was bullied by one school.

[Updating status!]

[Update complete]

"It seems that the status increase doesn't increase steadily," Raff said as the system showed his stats after successfully defeating the four adventurers who were bothering him.

[Answer: Status increase based on fighting style and method]

"So if I fight using magic then my magic power and mana stats increase the most?" asked Raff.

[Answer: Yes]

Raff was silent. His hand was holding ten silver coins given by Soy. Raff looked at the silver coins to confirm their authenticity. He smiled as he found one interesting idea in his mind.

"Maybe I can bring these silver coins to the real world with the dimensional gate skill and sell them," Raff muttered with a happy smile. His dream of becoming rich would definitely come true soon.

[Answer: No, you can't. Objects or anything in this world cannot be brought into the real world using ordinary dimensional gate skills. Only the clothes that are being used will be carried over]

"Eh? Then what's the point of me being able to move to this world?" said Raff. He looked disappointed at the system's answer.

[Answer: To increase level, strength and complete quests]

"Wait. You said earlier that objects in this world cannot be brought into the real world using ordinary dimensional gate skills? That means there is another unusual way to bring them?" asked Raff after thinking about what the system said. If objects in the fantasy world could not be brought into the real world absolutely then the system would not speak like that.

[Answer: Correct. Must upgrade the dimensional gate skill to the world connector skill in order to bring anything from the fantasy world to the real world or vice versa]

"Really? How?" asked Raff enthusiastically. He couldn't possibly miss the opportunity to realize his dream.
