130 — THE BOSS’ DEFEAT

“Let go of him right now. Or else…”

“Or else what?” The boss growled. “If I detect any funny business, I’ll blow out his brains before you even get the chance to cock your little toy gun. Don’t test me.”

Alex blinked severally at Tariq, trying to get his attention. Finally, he looked at him and Alex shook his head as subtly as he could in a gesture that meant;

“Let me handle this. Stand back.”

To his relief, Tariq finally gave in and stepped back.

“Okay, then.” He said, lowering his hand to the ground to drop his gun. “I’m gonna do as you’ve asked.”

The boss was laser focused on watching Tariq drop the gun and Alex used that opportunity to strike.

He counted to three in his mind and suddenly twisted with lightning speed, shoving his left shoulder into the boss’ bullet injury.

The boss let out a scream of pain and accidentally released the trigger on his gun. The “pow!!” sound of the bullet hitting the opposite wall shocked him long enough to relax his grip around Alex’s throat.
