Chapter 4

"This order will turn to you."

Aiden typed. "What do you mean?"

Aiden sat on the park bench waiting for a reply. He looked around, hoping no one would catch him.

"You will be the target of this order."

Damn, that site set him up. Like it or not, he had to comply with their request, but what if he reported this site to the police as a cyber crime? But no way, he didn't have enough evidence. If he refused, he would die.

It was raining quite heavily, he stole a homeless man's jacket in a small alley. He covered his head, walking with his arms folded.

The rain was quite heavy, some people were walking slowly, it was getting dark. Aiden waited behind a wall, occasionally turning his head to the end of the sidewalk. He was hungry and cold.

Aiden looked at the phone. "That must be her."

He took a deep breath. As soon as the girl passed by, he pulled her away onto the sidewalk.

The young woman screamed. "What are you doing?"

Aiden removed the hood, then put his forefinger to the woman's lips, asking her to calm down. The woman blinked, feeling a strange tremor as she stared at the rather handsome man.

"I'm Venus. I thought I saw you somewhere."

"Sorry, I don't recognize you." The woman gripped the umbrella tightly, feeling threatened.

Aiden looked uneasy. He turned around and faced the woman again.

"Dating app, I saw you there." The rain had soaked Aiden's hair and face.

The woman looked thoughtful. "Yeah, I used it a few months ago."

"I thought I could get to know you." Aiden laughed awkwardly, his heart racing.

"Okay."

Aiden paused, then leaned closer, touching the woman's face. Her hair was curly, there were freckles on her cheekbones, her lips were full. Aiden kissed her gently. The umbrella came down, the rain drenching their passion.

One of Aiden's hands took something from under his jacket and swung it confidently. The kiss broke, the woman gasped and had trouble breathing.

"I'm sorry." Aiden stabbed the woman once more.

The woman fell after Aiden withdrew the knife. Blood seeped, flowing down the street, the rain making the red color spread faster. Aiden looked at the woman struggling against the pain as lightning rang out.

Aiden put an umbrella under the woman's head, then took a photo and left.

He kept running until he felt out of breath. He went to a convenience store, took a sip of canned beer, breathed as much as possible, and then he found a message that he had received 500 dollars.

"Congrats, you have completed the first task."

"You will receive another task to reach a certain level."

"Do you want to continue the contract or not?"

Aiden shuddered, he never thought that he would find this horrible game. Maybe he should quit.

Aiden booked a motel before looking for a new apartment. He lay on the bed in wet clothes.

"You have received 500 dollars."

After agreeing to the contract mission, Aiden received 100 dollars, which he could use for anything. Aiden bought a new knife and paid for a taxi. He also received information about the woman, including what she liked and where she worked.

He had undressed and washed the knife in the sink, then thrown it away, including the clothes he was wearing. He must not leave a trace.

The next day, he walked on a sidewalk before going to work. The atmosphere was very familiar. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Fred leaning smugly against his car.

"Did I take too long?" Eri asked with a friendly smile and sat in the front.

Aiden could see that the man looked very happy as he walked into the car.

Aiden followed them, but he couldn't find a single taxi passing by. He finally ordered an Uber. Aiden lost track, but Fred must have gone back to the office, so he waited there.

In the basement, a car was just parked. The door opened, and Aiden immediately attacked Fred, grabbing him by the collar and punching him in the face.

"Bastard, you secretly took everything from me." Aiden kicked Fred once in the stomach.

"Aiden, stop." Eri walked from the elevator to where the car was parked. "What are you doing?" Eri walked over to Fred, helping him up.

"Babe." Aiden reached for Eri's hand, but she brushed it away. "I want to talk to you for a minute."

"No, I can't."

The two wanted to leave, but Aiden blocked their way. "Please listen to me, what am I doing wrong, that you won't pick up my phone."

"Everything is clear, what else do you expect?" Eri sighed. "Aiden, you better not see me again."

"I don't want us to break up." Aiden shouted in frustration.

Eri looked at him quizzically, then walked over to Aiden. "It's all your fault, you got fired. I tried to make things right, asked father to accept you back, but no, it's my fault for not seeing your true form."

"What do you mean?" Aiden shot a quick glance at Fred, who was holding back a smile. "Eri, what do you mean, Duke is accusing me?" Aiden suddenly laughed, making Eri somewhat annoyed.

"Duke must be saying that I'm incompetent at work, right?"

Fred immediately stood between Aiden and Eri. Aiden stared at the two in disbelief, Eri had gotten over it so easily and Fred was such an asshole.

"I asked you not to see me again."

"Eri."

"Stop," Fred said, acting like a hero, blocking Aiden.

"Get out of my way, you're just a driver." For some reason those words hurt him, Aiden remembered them coming out of Duke's mouth.

"He's right." Eri walked forward, facing Aiden boldly. "You need to stop, I don't want anything to do with you."

"Give me a reason why our relationship should end, please, give me a chance. I'm sorry if I hurt you or left you in danger."

"Stop, I won't be fooled. That's enough, Aiden. We're over." Eri sighed as she watched Aiden silently. "I thought after I graduated, and we got married, I could ask father to make you an employee. Work in an office and not be a driver. But you ruined all those hopes."

That statement made Aiden's jaw drop. He regretted what had happened. Eri thought about it. Aiden should have been careful until they got married.

"Eri."

"You ruined everything." Eri's tears fell. Then she got into the car.

Fred whispered to Aiden. "I secretly take everything from you."

Aiden clenched his fists, his jaw hardened, he was about to throw a punch, but Fred was already in the car, and they were out of there.

He got a job at a fast food restaurant. It was his first day at work. He worked in a kitchen. While frying the chicken, he remembered something.

Aiden went into the toilet and opened the Kill Note app. He pressed the message icon. He reopened the one-year contract notice.

With a rush of breath and a sudden burning sensation, he pressed Yes.

"Welcome. You can write down the name of someone you want to ruin the life of."

"Or want to kill him?"

Aiden swallowed, his eyes staring straight ahead. He could not kill Duke quickly. The man had to feel the pain that his mother felt.
