Chapter 11

The words were able to make Mati fall back in her steps. It was a really large amount of money for her.

When their families were still in fame, it would have been easy for them to take care of it in a bit.

And if Leonard was still around, it would have also been easy to paster him for the money. As stupid as he was, he could have always run around to get it for them.

But now, it was like luck was not on their side anymore. She drew a deep breath, she thought that they might have been able to afford a stunning dress but now, they would not be able to do that.

She drew a deep breath, it would only be wise for them to go back at this point since it was not going to be of any use for them to linger there.

She sighed once again before touching her mother. But instead, Mrs. Ruth was still gritting with anger that she could hardly feel this tap.

Thoughts ran through thoughts. She wished that she could rip the cashier right into halves but with the amount of guards that were littered around the place, she knew that it would not be possible for her to do that.

She sucked her breath in her lungs and gritted her teeth one last time, twisting her face into one that spoke of spite and disgust.

"Just wait until my daughter becomes the wife of the heir and see what I am going to do to you little punk." She growled under his breath while the rest of them were gathered around her and could only hear mumbles.

With her eyes shut and her hands tightly squeezed into a large ball.

"I am going to let this slide this time. But the next time that I come to his place, know that it's going to be your end."

"Mum, mum!" Mati called out, snapping her off from her thoughts.

"We should get going already since they are not ready to attend to us. We can always get somewhere better." Mati was looking for other ways to make it less of a disgrace but the Cashier could already see right through their tricks so it was as good as useless.

"Go?" Mrs. Ruth responded.

"If we leave, this fool is going to think too much of themselves." She replied, getting Mati more stunned than ever.

Could it be that her mother would be able to afford the dress? How did she even have such a large amount of money?

Mrs. Ruth could already read through her thoughts and went ahead to tap her on the shoulders saying.

"The money that punk had been given to us in the name of peanuts. It was as good as useless so I had to be saving it." She replied.

Mati now had a really broad smile on her face but only saw the negative part of it as her hatred for Leonard only snored, prompting her to say.

"He has always been useless. The money means nothing after everything that we have done for the ungrateful soul. It's only our right to have this." She added once again and turned over to the cashier.

"So what's the price of this told access card?" Mati inquired.

"Two million dollars. A silver one is half the price." She replied. "I can always go for the regular one if you can't afford these." She replied.

Mrs. Ruth shifted with shock and her mouth wide open for a while. The total money that she had budgeted was two million dollars. How could it be that she was going to spend all that amount of money for just a crazy card?

Then, a thought flooded through her mind and a broad smile hovered on her face. Mati already thought that it was over after the price had been mentioned until her mother said.

"The silver card." Her words were like cold spears but they did not harm.

After payments had been made, the card was then added to them. Back at the mall, Mrs. Ruth already had her plans plotted out.

Once they got to the divide, she could tell that the card looked pretty familiar.

Instead of going with the silver that they had already chosen, Mrs. Ruth promoted her daughter to go somewhere else instead. The gold chamber.

"But mo.." Mati was about to say but her mom won't allow her to say another word.

"Just follow me, I know what I am doing." She replied.

They got to the card and she quickly swamped the card over the guard without allowing her to see through it.

"Do you want to question us? Do you know what family we are from?" She thundered and the guard let them go.

But one thing that they didn't realize was that they didn't even need the guard to check. That was only more like a formality.

There were already sensors everywhere to pick out traces of the wrong card. The camera detected the card that Mrs. Ruth was holding and a red blue light began to shine.

Mrs. Ruth could tell that they were in trouble and her heart skipped her beat. "What have I gotten myself into." Where the words clouded her mind.

Mati was already shivering out of the fear that gripped her. But there was something else that gripped her, even though she could barely feel it. Her mother's hand.

"Quick, let's leave." She noticed. But as they ran, they bumped into someone and looking up, realized who it was sending shockwaves down their spine.

"Leonard?" Their feet watered.

"You?" There was a sudden fit in his heart and his brow flickered.

But their minds weren't concentrated on what he was doing there but rather how he got there.

They could barely afford the silver platform and that was for members with the gold platform.

Or could it be that they were in so much panic that their minds were beginning to create pictures that didn't exist?

But it was true. That was Leonard and not an illusion of him.
