Chapter 7

The men all shot deadly glares at him, advancing slowly toward him while everyone was scared for him.

But someone, he was able to maintain a strange calm that no one in the room could explain and this got even more angry than he was already.

Steams could not describe his flaming anger this time. More popcorn popped into his mouth at such a high speed that a normal man would have choked.

He could not wait already to hear the cracking of Leonard's bones that were going to be pure music in his ears.

But before the men could get to do anything, the door slid open. The aura that proceeded from the sliding of the door made everyone pause because it seemed familiar to the place.

The first person that turned his head around towards the direction of the sound was Wiles with a deadly frown on his face.

"Who dares to interrupt my party." Where the words in his mouth were as he spun.

But the person that his eyes met with brought his motion to a second pause. Seeing the shocking expression on the face of their boss made the rest also turn around towards the sound.

Their hearts were stiffened with shock. This was so not good.

The initial shock that was hovering on his face soon disappeared and was replaced with a smile.

The old man in his early fifties, standing at the door was no other person than the inspector general of police and also one of his greatest allies.

This was one of the men who aided his crimes since they had been friends right from childhood.

The smile on his face broadened even more. With this knowledge of his tips. There would be no reason to use his thugs on the fool. He could always forge an offense to give to him and let him rot in prison for the rest of his life.

"How perfect." He thought.

The rest of the workers were frightened and afraid, especially for Leonard.

"I told you. He is such a fool. If he had left a while ago, none of this would have been happening." One of them said,

"Now he would have to rot in jail for the rest of his life." Another one of them said.

Knowing the drill here, Sofia was already trying to come up with something. She could not allow anything on this surface to happen. Not when he was only trying to help her.

Ben, the general inspector came over to Wiles who stretched his hands forward with a smile on his face and these words on his lips.

"What an unexpected visit to my good friend." He was still smiling when a deadly slap that echoed throughout the hall sprouted on his face.

One that made his already weak teeth shake right from their roots. The lines of the inspector's hands are printed on his face.

For a while, he was so fluttered by the shock that he couldn't make out words to express it. Whereas Sofia, her eyes bulged out from her sockets.

These two men have always been known to be best of friends, so how could this be possible? And most embarrassing was the fact that Mr. Ben didn't even care that they were in public

"Ms. An." One of the workers turned to her neighbor who was about to be engulfed.

"I saw my daughter yesterday. He said my eyes are beginning to get better. But why are my eyes beginning to see weird images that aren't true?" He inquired but her neighbor went ahead to say.

"It's true Ms. An. Every single thing of what you saw. It looks like the world is coming to an end in my opinion. We should all repent from our sins." She said further.

Ms. And placed her hands over her face still smitten with shock and confusion as she turned around back towards the scene.

Wile once frozen heart soon began to melt and he was soon able to get a hold of himself with these sayings on his lips.

"Why did you do that?"

But hearing him speak only seemed to make Mr. Ben get angry even more. "Have you suddenly run mad? I should have known better than to help all these years.

But even if you had to pick on anyone. You couldn't find someone else apart from Mr. Leonard?" He thundered, sending fright down his throat.

Everyone in the room was stunned. For once, they looked at him with different eyes and were bold enough to make two friends who had known each other right from childhood to fight.

"Do you realize what you are doing Ben? Do you realize that we have been friends? Do you want to end our friendship just like this?" He fired.

But instead of rethinking his decision, Mr. Ben only burst out into laughter. "If you knew who you were dealing with, I would have been afraid for my own life." He replied.

Wiles was shocked. He didn't expect that the friendship that he had tried to cultivate all these years was going to end all because of Leonard.

Drawing a really deep breath, he shot a deadly glare at his used-to-be friends.

"That still doesn't give you the right to hit me, Ben. I am as powerful a man as you are." He replied.

“Just as you are an general inspector or anything that you have decided to be, that's the same way that I am also an expert in my field.” He replied and this time, he could not hold back his laughter.

“You must have really gone mad to think that you can challenge me.” He quickly responded.

"Do you think so? I think that you would have a lot of charges to answer for in that case because I am reopening the investigations for all the atrocities that you have committed." He threatened.

Mr. Wiles's reflexes were triggered and he almost peed on himself. Knowing exactly what that meant, he was going to get into a lot of trouble.

A smile he was able to squeeze to his lips as he beckoned on Ben who used to be his friend and pleaded.

"Ben, you can't do this to me. At least remember the childhood that we had together."  Everyone was stunned.

They never thought that Mr. Wiles would be brought to such a point where he would be brought to his knees.

He had always been the domineering type. And to think that Leonard was the true person who placed him behind this could only mean that he was a powerful person.

"Please forgive me for being rude to me earlier. I am going to do anything. Just do this last thing to me and I am going to give you anything." He pleaded.

But Mr. Ben only scoffed. "You don't know how much trouble that you have gotten yourself into." He returned.

"Do you think that I am the one that I should be apologizing to right now? I never knew that your head was made up of rocks." He replied.

Knowing what this meant, his eyes shifted to Leonard's who widened his. He never knew that such a day was going to come. Maybe this was his karma.

Knowing that there was nothing he could do, he went off to Leonard and pleaded.

"Please forgive my friend for acting so rashly." But Leonard only frowned at his words.

"And who is your friend?" He thundered. "And so you expect me to be telling you to kneel at this moment?" He thundered back.
