Chapter forty-four

Joshua thought the woman would punish them for their crime. So he smiled and trudged their shoulders making the vile situation seem light. Obviously, she didn't react out of control.

"You should not redress them, they were only doing their job I believe."

Joshua was sure it was a law set by those that own the major part of the city, but they had a few reserve places where those that were regarded as lower members could stay and fine, it wouldn't have been any of the floors but the ground floor and it was in the lobby not hidden from the sight of the public.

The guards exchanged nervous glances and they were shocked just like Joshua. He looked through the window and sighed while trying to point out Raphael.

The woman's gaze waned as she looked at Joshua who placed his hand on one of the guards' shoulders and her expression changed but not without a warning she knew why he was doing that. Trying to secure their source of income.
