"We have been waiting for this so long, boss. Your bank account will be unlocked, and you'll get all your permissions back..." A female voice said with excitement on the phone.
"I see that, thank you Pamela. " Jackson was in the kitchen cooking when he received Pamela's call. He was preparing a nice candlelight dinner for his wife, Ella.
Today, he will share this great news to his wife. He will make her the happiest woman in the world today.
"Welcome back, king of the world..."Pamela whispered on the phone.
...
Ella had been married to Jackson for a few years and he was excited to share the best times of his life with his wife, but recently, she was much more busier than before.
She always stayed out late and when she was back, she was always drank. Sometimes, there would be some nice jewelries on her desk, Obviously Jackson could not afford them.
But Jackson believed it was because Ella got promoted recently in her company.
Tomorrow was his 23rd birthday and it would unleash a new chapter in his life. Ella did not know that tonight, over the fancy dinner he'd slaved to prepare, he wanted to announce it to her.Jackson hang up the phone, focusing on preparing his candlelight dinner. He knew that recently his wife was very busy, but he still informed her to come back early.
"I'm waiting for you to return home, My Love. I love you." Jackson sent a message to Ella.
He checked his phone and hoped for a reply message from his wife, even though there was no reply. He took a deep breath.
"Maybe Ella is still busy right now, but I'm sure she'll be home soon." he said.
But Jackson waited until midnight, and finally Ella came home. She opened the door but looked so drank and walked unsteadily in to the house.
"Finally you're home, dear." Jackson walked to Ella with a smile.
"Get away! Don't bother me today, you wasted!" She yelled in his face and poked his chest as she spoke.
"What do you mean, Ella? Did something happen at work today?" He asked carefully.
"That's enough, Jackson. I'm tired of your useless concern, so just stop talking and leave me alone!" Ella yelled.
"But Ella, in fact I had something to tell you..."Jackson whispered.
"That's good, because I have something to tell you too!" Ella said ironically.
She believed that Jackson had nothing important, nothing more than how much effort he paid for this dinner.
"OK, then you go first." Jackson said.
"I want a divorce, Jackson." Ella said these ruthless words without any expression on her face.
"What did you just say?" Jackson asked his face a mask of shock and disbelief.
"I said I want a divorce, Jackson! And I want it now." The young woman said and pushed her way out of his hold, plopping down on the sofa.
Jackson could not believe his ears, he had set the dining table, ready to receive her and make a big announcement, little did he know that she had an announcement of her own.
"Listen, I know I said I could handle this, but I can't do it anymore. I'm tired of being mocked every day, my colleagues are all better than me, I have too many bills to settle, and I can not have the life I want all because of you, I have had enough! This can't continue, Jackson, just sign the papers and let us get this over with!"
Ella said scornfully and handed him the divorce papers and a pen from her bag.
"Ella, you should not do this, we can still work things out, you know I can try..."
"That's the problem, it's always about you, it's never about me!"
"You don't think how I feel in this situation, you don't care what sacrifices I make just to remain with you, here. I turn down eligible men and I am being mocked by my friends and family, all because of you!"
She snapped at him and Jackson could not believe his ears, Ella had never acted that way, she was a nag most times but apparently, she had been hiding her true self while planning their divorce behind his back. "I would rather be alone than with a man like you, you don't have a dream, you are unambitious, you can't take care of me, I'm sick of this poverty and your empty promises, I want out." She said.
"Ella, I know the years have been quite tough but it's gonna be all okay after tomorrow, I promise, it's going to be better tomorrow." He assured.
"Really? What's so special about tomorrow? Huh? Will some genie come and grant all your wishes?" She mocked him and burst out laughing.
"You don't get it, Ella, tomorrow is the big day and all of our problems will be fixed, we will have a better life, we will have the life that we have always wanted, you can't possibly walk away now, not when__"
"Shut up, Jackson." She snapped at him impatiently, "You are only bragging and I will not fall for it, I need a real man, and not some boy with wild dreams of wealth, to sign those papers." She insisted.
"You've met someone else haven't you?" Jackson asked and she glared at him.
"That is none of your business, I deserve more, I deserve a man that can take good care of me and support my dreams, I don't need a valueless scum like you, it's none of your freaking business who I am with now."
She said angrily, confirming Jackson's suspicions that indeed there was someone, little wonder she kept late at night and avoided him when she returned. She was leaving him for someone else and that was obvious.
Jackson shook his head at her recklessness, she had forgotten so soon what day it was. "Do you know what tomorrow is?"
He asked and Ella waved him away carelessly.
"Tomorrow will be our divorce anniversary, that's what tomorrow is," she snapped and rose from the couch, "Now sign those papers and get out of my life, you can save your cheap food, I don't need it."
She snapped angrily, her fingers pointed at him, and then she left the living room, looking down at the dinner that Jackson had set on the table, and staggered into her room, slamming the door behind her.
Jackson could not believe all that had happened, Ella was no longer interested in their marriage, she'd been having an affair and now she wanted to end it with him, he sat alone and lost in thought.
It was his birthday soon in a couple of minutes and he knew his old life was coming to an end and a new dawn would begin. It was a pity that Ella would not be a part of it, but he couldn't stop her, her mind was already made up.
A message showed on his screen. "100,000,000 dollars has been transfered to your account, your credit is 100,000,021.87 dollars..."
Ella met Jackson in front of the magistrate court. She was as beautiful as ever, dressed in a fancy blouse and plain black skirt. Her face was contorted in a frown as she saw Jackson on the staircase, waiting for her. "Don't tell me you've changed your mind about this, I'm not willing to waste one more day of my life with a man like you." She mocked, pulled off her sunglasses, and glared at him. Jackson simply stared at her with a pitiful frown, wondering if she had any idea what had changed. "Are you sure you want us to divorce?" He asked and Ella scoffed rudely, asking him if she had anything to lose. "I'm just trying to be sure that this is what you want, Ella, it isn't too late for us to change our mind about this divorce." He said. "And why would I do that?" She asked pointedly, her eyes fixated on him, almost daring him to remind her of why she should stay. Almost forced to tell her why, Jackson decided against it and rather shook his head, "Never mind." He replied. "I
The small crowd gasped as the SUV crashed into Alexander's saloon car and virtually crushed it. Alexander was furious. He looked at his newest ride, it was worth a lot of money. Even if his father was rich and could afford a new one, he knew it would not be so soon, his father would be furious and may never replace the car for him. Alexander stormed to the car to confront the driver and ask for compensation or threaten him. But as he arrived there, he saw that it was a girl in front of the car and she was the most beautiful creature he'd seen in a very long time. Ella paled in comparison to her. "Oh," he simply said as the girl stared at him almost daringly. Alexander was lost for words, he did not know what to say to her anymore despite his initial anger at her reckless driving. He smiled sheepishly and tried to act like the car was nothing."What is it?" She asked rudely despite crashing his car, she didn't look apologetic at all. "There's no need for compensation, I'm sure we
"This is madness!" Ella screamed foolishly as she watched the flames engulf the boxes. She was furious and she glared at Pamela threateningly. "You have no idea what you've just done! You don't know who you are__" Pamela sneered at her, "Last time I checked, you aren't anyone significant." She snapped and then waved her aside like she didn't matter. "He isn't in my class! You can have him for all I care, I have a better man by my side."Ella retorted with a glare. Even as she spoke, she knew all too well that Pamela was way above her league, and the bags she'd just burnt to spite her could very well change her entire wardrobe. "I think that's ironic, you are not in his league." Pamela replied offhandedly, she swayed to Jackson, "Come on, let us go." She said and invited him to the car. Jackson followed without a second glance at Ella and they drove off speedily. As the duo drove off, Ella stomped and cursed, embarrassed at the entire scene. She wondered how Jackson co
Jackson decided to ignore her rude behavior, it was after all that last time he would have to with her stoic and cold attitude. He also entered Sophia's office and shut the door. She turned to him with a frown as she saw him inside. She wondered what he was doing, was she trying to ask for more bonus, or had that display for the fat man put some ideas in his head about actually asking her out? "You don't have to follow me like you're a lost puppy, I said I will give you a bonus for what you did out there and I will add that to your salary at the end of the month." She snapped impatiently and lifted her beautiful face to glare at him. "Now leave, I have work to do and you're interfering." Jackson shook his head calmly and replied, "I am not here to ask for the bonus." She frowned, wondering if the few seconds of affection display could have gotten into his head and given him stupid ideas about actually being with her. "Then what are you doing here?" She snapped arrogant
Jackson laughed at her words, he found her tantrum amusing and he could not wait to prove to her that she was wrong. He walked to her and lifted her chin with his fingers. He knew how lowly she thought of him and her status as the boss of the company made her unable to believe that he could help the company in any way. Sophia was shocked at his actions, he knew him only as a lowly worker, a loser, and a coward, how could he dare to speak nonsense and then touch her? What was he up to and when did he grow the balls to address her so casually? With a cocky smile, he said, "I accept your terms, you have got yourself a deal." He said. "You can go ahead and transfer the money you need." "Put your hands off me, you have no idea what you're talking about, get out of my office, Jackson." She snapped. "Are you going back on your words so soon?" He asked, arching his brows. Sophia bared her teeth at him and slammed her fist on the table, angry at what he'd just said. "I do
Jackson looked at Sophia, his smirk still intact, he could see her shocked expression and he was amused because she was dumbfounded. "So, when do we go to register for our marriage? Do you have any location in mind? Color?" He asked with an amused smile. Sophia was not aware of all he said, she was so shocked that her mind wandered far from the present. How could Jackson possibly have so much money and also own such an exclusive card? Who was he? Why did he want to give her so much money? She wondered silently. Jackson waved a hand at her face and finally snapped her out of her reverie. Sophia snapped out of it with a jerk and looked at him curiously. "I'm asking when you would love our wedding to be held, remember what you promised earlier." He asked with a cocky smile. Sophia blushed, she didn't know what to say in response. She looked down at her desk and almost admitted that she was only joking because she could not believe that he had such an amount of mone
Jackson finally agreed to her offer to become a part of her company. "This technically makes me the owner of the company, you know that right? And I know that this company is your treasure, you value it." He said. Sophia nodded and replied without hesitation, "The treasure would have been ruined if not for your help, I know it's best this way." She replied. Jackson smiled at her, he was just getting to see her fun side, Sophia looked even more beautiful when she wasn't wearing the cold face that everyone knew her for. "I still want you to oversee the company, don't worry, I won't mess up the management or try to take charge, I know you've been handling the company well, this is just on paper, no one has to know about it." He said. Sophia thought for a few seconds and then nodded, "I trust you, Jackson." She replied with a soft smile. No matter how long she worried or the connections she had, she knew she could not have single-handedly settled the crisis as quickly as Ja
At the police station, Ella sat closely with Alexander by a little desk, eating from a tray of sliced fruits. Many officers surrounded them, cheering them on and acting like sycophants. "Don't worry, master, we will be sure that he regrets the day he ever dared to offend you, I'm sure he'll be begging and crying for mercy once we're done." The cop said with a wide smile. "I trust you'll teach that loser a lesson of his life," Ella replied with a wicked smile. "He'll grovel and beg for mercy and then we'll see who the real badass is." Alexander retorted with a smile. He wanted to keep impressing Ella and he wanted the beautiful girl to compensate him for his loss while he thoroughly humiliated Jackson too. At this time, the gates of the station opened and the officer they'd sent drove in with Jackson in the backseat. The car opened and Jackson stepped out with his hands before him, handcuffed. Ella smiled at the sight and Alexander was very pleased that finally, he'd had
