Vincent hurries into the car waiting for him at the entrance of the company. Ben speeds up immediately.
"You have gotten Austin's address?" Vincent inquires.
"Yes, sir." Ben replies.
"How did you get it?"
"I made a few calls to some of my friends in the public security sectors. They owe me a few favors."
Vincent nods, "Nice one, Ben."
The car maneuvers through unfamiliar streets as Vincent believes lead to Austin's house. The uneven pavements paint a picture of an area where development has been somehow neglected.
"Does Austin live here?" Vincent asks, getting worried they might be heading to the wrong location.
"Yes, sir. This road leads to the address given to me." Ben reassures.
Vincent wonders how Austin could thrive in such a
Austin paces around the living room thinking of what to do with Vincent's behavior. Vincent already knows where he lives so he needs to act fast. He sits down and takes his phone out of his pocket and calls Ramsey. It rings but Ramsey does not pick up the call. He tries again and just when Austin feels like giving up, Ramsey answers."Hello, can I call you back? I'm in a meeting." Ramsey says in a low voice."No! Ramsey, this is important. We need to talk now." Austin raises his voice."Give me a minute." Ramsey says. Austin hears Ramsey asking for some minutes to answer the call. He hears a door open and close."What happened, Austin?" Ramsey asks."Austin came to my house." Austin says.Ramsey widens his eyes in surprise, "How is that possible? How could he have found where you live?""I don't know. Now, I don't know what to do. You have got to help me out, Ramsey." Austin fists his hair."Calm down, Austin. Just calm down. What did Vincent tell you?""He said something like he want
Austin can not believe he is tearing up. He is a grown man and discussions about his father have made him start weeping like a boy."I made your father a promise to look out for you whenever you needed help. Nobody knows about how Mr. Rufus helped my company. The account the investment money came from was unknown. Mr. Rufus opened to me about his company just in case something happened."Austin nods, feeling sad how he completely misunderstood Vincent. Vincent was just trying to help him and he was shut down."I'm really sorry, Vincent." Austin apologizes, "I had no idea about any of this if not I would not have behaved so rudely with you.""It's okay. I perfectly understand. I'm just glad we are able to clear up this misunderstanding." Vincent smiles.Austin crosses his arms, "You must be wondering why I am not involved with the company.""Yes, please explain to me what's happening. Are the shareholders against you being the CEO? If it's anything, tell me and I will help you.""It's
Christian sits on the bed. He rummages his bag on the bed and takes out two prescription bottles. A smirk plays on his lips. A plan forms in his mind to ensure the meeting would unfold to his advantage. He takes a prescription nylon from his bag. He opens one prescription bottle and pours out a white pill on his palm. He puts it in the nylon. He does the same for the other prescription bottle and pours out a pink pill into the nylon. Each of the pills play a helpful role to the user but the combination causes a bit of a harm. The combination would cause dizziness and fainting. Nothing that would cause any alarm since it's just once that Rose would take it.He hears Rose's bedroom door open so he rushes out with the prescription nylon. He swings the door open and sees Rose heading for the stairs."Rose, please wait a minute." Christian approaches Rose. She stops and turns to Christian."What do you want?" Rose asks.Christian extends the nylon to Rose, "Take this."Rose looks at Christ
Rose glances at her father having a silent conversation with a man that seems in his fifties with gray hair. After the discussion, the man walks over to the podium. He seems to be the speaker of the meeting today. Gabriel sits down and looks at his daughter. Rose musters a small smile and he nods in response. The shareholders take their seat. The conversations die down, setting the stage for the aim of the day.The speaker begins, "Now, we will begin the Star Group Annual Shareholders’ Meeting. I will be presenting last year’s business report?"The projector behind the speaker lights up, showing various stats, graphs and different positive business outcomes. The speaker continues, "Yes, I am. As you can see, companyrevenues have more than doubled since the president introduced new ideas and pro
Gabriel waits in the conference room for Rose's return. He grows increasingly concerned as minutes pass without a sign of her. The shareholders were leaving little by little. He hopes Rose is not in trouble that could damage her image. Anxiety knots in Gabriel's stomach as he wonders what can be causing the delay.Rose would not just disappear without letting him know. Realizing something might be amiss. Gabriel discreetly pulls out his phone and composes a message to his secretary. The text was concise but urgent, instructing the secretary to discreetly check on Rose without attracting attention, not wanting to cause unnecessary concern among the shareholders or draw attention to Rose's absence. He glances at the clock, each passing moment intensifies the unease.****************************************************************************************************
"Stay with me Rose, I'm taking you to the hospital now." Jane inhales as she moves Rose through an elevator that led to the underground garage of the building. A security guard drives the jeep towards them to make it easier for Rose to get in. Opening the back seat Jane and the security guard place Rose on the chair. Jane sits beside her making sure Rose's head rests on her thighs. She pulls the passenger door closed. Clunk. The ceiling light switches off, leaving only the interior's eerie glow and whatever’s managed to reach them from this wrong end of the headlights. Her window is ascending until it seals the door cleft.“Which hospital are we going?” the security guards asks as he put on his seat belt. The seatbelt s
Ariel settles into her office chair, the muted sounds of the bustling city seeps through the closed windows. With a determined look in her eyes, she picks up her phone and dials the number of a private investigator she had hired to look into the accident that had left Luther injured and shaken. After hearing about Luther's history, she is even more determined to make sure the assailant is caught. He cannot go free after everything he has done. Ariel has to prove to Luther she will always be there for him just like does for her."Hello, this is Ariel. I need an update on the investigation regarding the hit-and-run incident a few days ago," she speaks with a sense of urgency. On the other end of the line, the investigator, Simmons, responds in a calm and professional manner. "Good morning, Ms. Ariel. I've been making progress. I have been reviewing traffic cam
Luther slowly opens his eyes to the sterile whiteness of the hospital room. The soft hum of machines and the distant murmur of voices greet him as he gets accustomed to his surroundings. His head throbs with a dull ache, and his body still feels a bit heavy. He had hit his head too hard on the asphalt road and now the pain is still not reducing. But this pain is nothing as far as he gets to keep Ariel at his side. The sterile scent of antiseptic invades his senses, and the rhythmic beeping of a heart monitor fills the room. Luther shifts uncomfortably on the crisp, white sheets, realizing that he is hooked up to a tube. As he tries to move, pain shoots through his limbs and head, forcing him to remain still. He did not feel this pain yesterday. He wanted to get discharged the other day but the doctor advised to stay at least two days in case the pain gets worse.
