CHAPTER 4

After looking coldly at Yvonne who was clearly standing confused, he then chose to explain what had transpired.

"Your mother was trying to grab my mother's necklace from me saying it was yours and that I stole it, I was only trying to stop her from doing that, because I didn't steal it. Only taking what belongs to me."

Yvonne Cooper turned to her mother and asked;

"Mum, is what he is saying true?"

"All I know is that this necklace belongs to our family and he is nothing more than a thief. He can't possibly afford to get something as expensive as this, so he stole it from our family."

Yvonne then knew that Warrick did nothing wrong, but in order not to lose face or take his side, since they were no longer married to each other.

She yelled; "No matter what had happened, regardless of what she had said you shouldn't have raised your hand on her. You are being disrespectful towards my mother and that is something I won't take from you, Warrick. I won't stand by and let you be disrespectful towards her."

"Now even you are being unreasonable Yvonne, *he shakes his head* you have changed, I hope you made the right choice, I am out of here." Warrick uttered coldly and walked away.

Yvonne just stood there, she had no comebacks at all, she hadn't seen such a side of him before.

Warrick left the room and Mrs Cooper followed him and kept yelling behind him that he was a thief. She called him all sorts of names, but he ignored her and kept on walking away leaving them behind.

All the curses and abuses emanating from Sarah fell on deaf ears.

Warrick got out of the mansion after walking some distance, flagged down a taxi.

He brought out his phone and after two rings it got answered.

"I will be there shortly."

The voice at the other end was very much nervous and replied;

"O-okay."

Meanwhile in a huge building filled with glasses and windows, in an exquisite landscape, a young beautiful lady could be seen pacing relentlessly.

She was very much confused about what to do and how to act.

Today would be the first time she would be meeting the owner of the company, she has been working for the company for a while now but was yet to meet its owner, since he chose to be hidden.

So when she received the call, she couldn't think straight.

ACORN CRAFTS is a huge Empire, even though she was in a high rank, even made a CEO of that branch. She knew behind it all was a whole new world.

So there were things she didn't know, like the owner of the empire in itself.

All she knew was his voice, nothing more, while pacing around in her office, she finally decided to sit down and put her thoughts together.

This was going to be her first meeting with the mystery man behind the company, so she knew deep down that she had to look presentable.

Not long after, the door to her office opened and a young man walked in, she immediately stood up from her seat, surprised and shocked.

"Who are you?" She asked as she looked at him skeptically.

How he got to her office without any help was bewildering.

"It's me Lunel Chase, the hidden boss of Acorn Craft Empire, I just spoke to you on the phone a while ago, informing you of my arrival here."

Hearing this, Vivian was surprised, she was imagining that the owner of such a powerful company would be a little bit older, more like a man in his late forties but here he was looking younger than she thought.

She didn't bother to disagree with him because as he (Warrick) spoke, it was the exact same voice she knew, so she didn't bother to refute his claims.

Vivian just stood there transfixed and in awe at how young and handsome he was.

Warrick Chase has two identities, his name as the owner of the empire of ACORN CRAFTS was Lunel Chase.

It was no wonder, how surprised he was when Lina had come looking for him in the construction site the other time.

Because he has tried so hard to hide his identity due to his wife's family, but since he no longer has a wife, he felt the need to live his life.

Vivian was not only surprised by his sudden appearance, she was scared for herself, she thought probably she had done something wrong for the boss himself to show his face. Because ever since she got recruited by the company, and in all her years of being there, even when the company was going through some issues, he never showed his face for any reason.

All he ever does was to communicate with her and the others through phone calls, but for the hidden boss to just show up unannounced she couldn't help but feel something was going on.

Lunel Chase walked up to Vivian's chair and sat down.

Noticing how nervous and scared Vivian was, He uttered;

"Come on Vivian, I won't bite, relax your shoulders and nerves. I am not here to sack you or anything."

"It's just surprising to see you here sir, I mean after all these years since I got employed this is the first time I get to see you."

Lunel smiled and uttered;

"Well, I am not here to cause you any discomfort or what not, can you kindly relax and stop being nervous? Just sit, Vivian, I came for one purpose and one purpose only."

"Okay Mr Chase… I will sit." Vivian retorted and sat carefully, still worried and curious as to why he was there. So she continued; "Mr Chase… sir, what purpose brought you to the company today?"

"I came because I regret ever giving the 100 billion dollars contract deal to the Cooper's group… that's the thing. It was a waste after all." He uttered.
