Chapter 33

The rain had stopped a few hours ago, but the trees’ inability to keep secrets would have informed you of the rain falling. Earth wasn’t left out as it became darker and soaked.

The clouds might have given way for the sun to shine through the sky, but the lit moon took its time to shine. It liked the attention it got, so it took more time to soak it all up.

The birds took to their heels as the tree branches were ruffled by the super speed of the doctor who ran for his life. His occasional bumping into things didn’t seem like it hurt him. His lungs must also wish to not die because they never showed their pain.

Doctor Haishi took a halt as he listened to hear the sound that had just flown past his ears. The chirping of birds, the hisses he couldn’t differentiate but hoped weren’t snakes, tree branches breaking, the whistling of hunters... each sound, no matter how low they were, filled him with panic and fear.
