THE SYSTEM IS REAL!

Esther spoke up calmly, "Let me take care of the bill."

"No, let me pay," Victor insisted.

"It's okay. I brought you here, so it's my treat," Esther replied politely, not wanting to appear rude.

"I know you've been very kind to me so far but let me pay for our food. I can afford it," Victor insisted, determined to test whether the money transferred by the system was genuine.

"Alright, then, go for it," Esther responded, crossing her arms skeptically. She didn't believe that Victor could cover such an expensive bill, but she was curious to see what he would do.

Victor examined the total bill, which amounted to $15,000. He glanced at the hotel account number on the check, took out his phone, and entered the account number along with the amount.

'I hope the transfer goes through,' he thought, closing his eyes momentarily before reopening them. To his surprise and delight, the message "Transfer successful" flashed on his screen. A bright smile lit up his face. 'Oh my gosh! It went through! The system is real!' Victor couldn't contain his excitement; he was thrilled that the money transferred by the mysterious system was indeed genuine.

He handed the payment to the waiter, showing him the transaction receipt. "Thank you, sir," the waiter acknowledged with a half bow before departing. Esther looked on in astonishment.

She couldn't believe that Victor had the means to afford such a bill; she had assumed he was broke.

"Wow, I didn't think you'd be able to afford that bill," she admitted softly, her gaze fixed on him. She had witnessed Victor's ex-girlfriend berate him in the restaurant earlier, and it was evident that one of the reasons she had left him was his financial situation.

"I do have money," Victor affirmed, with a sense of satisfaction that he could finally afford such luxuries.

"I can see that now," Esther responded, somewhat surprised by Victor's newfound financial capability. She had many questions but decided to let them go, respecting Victor's privacy.

Suddenly, Natalie and her friends walked into the restaurant and noticed Victor sitting with a lady. As they stopped in their tracks and stared, one of them exclaimed, "Oh my gosh, isn't that Victor, your worthless ex-boyfriend?"

"Yeah, why is he wearing a suit, and who is he with?" another friend wondered aloud.

Natalie rubbed her eyes with both hands and squinted at Victor. "It is Victor," she muttered, a mixture of shock and confusion on her face.

"Oh my, how is he able to afford that suit and dine at a five-star hotel?"

"I don't know, but something is definitely off," Natalie replied, perplexed. She and her friends took seats at an empty table directly opposite Victor and Esther.

Victor and Esther were engrossed in their meal when Victor noticed Natalie staring at him.

'What is she doing here?' Victor wondered, his eyebrows furrowing. He had not expected to see Natalie at the restaurant, especially with the same friends who had contributed to their breakup. Just the sight of her made his anger simmer.

Esther noticed the shift in Victor's mood. "Is something wrong? Is something on your mind?" she asked.

Victor's attention turned to Natalie and her friends, who were seated at the nearby table, openly observing him. "My ex and her friends are sitting at the table opposite us," he explained.

"Don't pay them any attention. Let's continue enjoying our meal. It's her loss for leaving you. Let's make her regret her decision," Esther suggested, trying to comfort him.

Meanwhile, Natalie and her friends recognized Esther. "Oh my gosh, that's Esther Kingston, the CEO of Premount Delivery Company," one of Natalie's friends whispered, her eyes wide with surprise.

"Yeah, how does Victor know her, and what is he doing having dinner with her?"

Natalie's mind raced with questions. 'Does this mean that Victor is rich now? What is he doing with her? What exactly did I do by leaving him? He must hate me by now, especially after how I humiliated him,' Natalie thought, regret creeping in.

"This is all surprising, but let's focus on ordering our food before heading back to our hotel room. Let's not pay Victor any more attention. Whatever he has going on, I'm sure Esther Kingston will take care of all the bills," Tacha suggested.

"You're right. Victor is poor and can't afford anything. I'm sure she even bought that suit for him because he didn't have one," Natalie replied.

Victor and Esther finished their steaks and poured wine into their glasses. "Let's make a toast," Esther suggested with a smile.

"To new beginnings and new relationships. Cheers!" they said, clinking their glasses together and sipping the wine.

Victor couldn't help but feel a surge of anger just knowing that Natalie and her friends were nearby, eating in front of him. He signaled a waiter to approach their table.

"I'd like you to bring me the bill for the ladies at the table across from us," Victor whispered to the waiter, his voice low.

"Alright, sir. I'll be back with the bill," the waiter replied before walking away. Esther strained to hear what Victor had said to the waiter and couldn't help but be curious.

“What did you say to the waiter?” she asked.

"I want to take my revenge on my ex and her friends," Victor declared boldly. His determination was evident, and Esther could sense that trying to dissuade him would be futile. "Alright then, go ahead," she muttered, acknowledging his decision.

The waiter returned to their table and handed Victor the bill. "That's their food bill, but, sir, one of them also has a room in the hotel, and it's included in the total," the waiter explained.

Victor glanced at the bill, which amounted to $5,000. He proceeded to make a transfer of $25,000 to the hotel's account and displayed the transaction receipt to the waiter. "Their bill is $5,000, and I paid $25,000. I want you to chase them out of the restaurant and not allow them to stay in the hotel after they finish eating," Victor instructed, his tone resolute.

"Okay, sir. Let me check with the front desk manager. I'll be back," the waiter said, accepting the payment and scurrying away.
