Chapter forty eight

"I don't think the houseboy would have been capable of making it to his room, or should I say attic, on time," Xavier replied.

"You are right. Maybe it was something else." I replied.

Xavier took the sack and left my room.

Devon POV:

Hearing all the confessions of Mrs. Wilson and her son, Xavier, I felt even more disgusted. They kill, steal, and destroy. They are devils that must most certainly perish with their evil deeds.

It was lucky for me that I knew how to switch on the phone after it charged a bit. I had a gut feeling that I should take it with me while I followed Mrs. Wilson in secret to her room.

I had turned on the voice recorder and everything she and her son said was recorded into my phone. My only regret was that it didn't charge enough to stay on.

My phone beeped as the first warning of a low battery and I heard Mrs. Wilson order her son to check for who was at the door.

I quickly hid deep into a dark corner and from there, I watched as Xavier came out and walked
