Chapter forty seven

Tamira placed her hand on her father's which was on his knee. Mr. Wilson sighed and went on, paying no attention to his impatient wife.

"Very soon I will no longer be with you all." Mr. Wilson said.

"Pfft. So you wanted us to gather here and listen to you talk about one of your travels?" Xavier questioned Mr. Wilson. "I always told you that your father can be quite odd." Mrs. Wilson added.

"It's not that kind of leaving that dad meant," Tamira said.

"My time on earth will soon come to an end. The doctor himself said so." Mr. Wilson explained. Mrs. Wilson and Xavier exchanged looks and the way they did it looked very suspicious to me.

I finished with the windows and cleaned up the bucket and rag then put them in the attic. I noticed a charger on the floor. Tamira must have put it here for me.

I plugged in my dead phone and went ahead to eavesdrop on the family discussion.
