Sara turned her face away in embarrassment, she was surprised as to why her body reacted to him calling her that, the unsettling warm feeling in the pit of her stomach. Vera hummed Jolène by Dolly Parton as she put the leftover food aside. Catherine had wanted to do it, but Vera insisted, She knew Catherine was worn out from the events of the day, but her mother was too stubborn to admit.Vera had won this time and sent her off to her room immediately. “Yes,” Ares replied curtly, glancing down at her to see her reaction.He could feel her grip on his hand get tighter and laughed, reading her thoughts. Vera walked through the hall to her room, she threw off her robe. Ares stepped out of the elevator into the dimly lit hallway, shaking his head gently, as if willing the remnants of the thoughts of his father to disappear.The hallway led to the sect arena, where the new gods held their meetings and deliberations.He opened the door of the arena gingerly and was greeted by emptiness, he was used to it, always making sure to be present several minutes before the other gods arrived.He walked around the table, tracing his hands on the chairs slowly as he made his way to his seat, which was at one end of the table.There were ten seats in total, four on each side and two on the opposite ends.
