Chapter 6. MASQUERDE PARTY

That night, the Marcos Family deliberately held a grand party. It was also one of Edward's wishes so that he could provide an opportunity for Roselyn's family to be able to get cooperation with the company owned by the Marcos family.

So, Edward told Robert to send party invitations to everyone including Roselyn. And he was happy that Roselyn came with him, he invited her.

It was a very grand party held in a five-star hotel. Not just anyone could rent that hotel for a party because only Billionaires could do it. He wanted to know the entire city, the trillionaire heir is back.

"I didn't expect the party to be this grand," Roselyn said as she entered the building with Edward. She was mesmerized by the extravagance of the party. With all the beautiful and expensive decorations, food, and drinks specially made by famous chefs. All the ingredients were made sure to be fresh with good quality ingredients.

Many people came to the party. All of them were CEOs and important officials in the business world. Roselyn was surprised that the Marcos family looked so rich. And that made her even more determined to get a partnership with the Marcos family's company. So that she could save her family's company from a crisis.

"Yes, the party was very lavish and beautiful," Edward replied. He looked around, searching for Robert, but he was nowhere to be seen. He only saw the guards standing in every corner of the building, making sure that there were no problems or anything suspicious that posed a danger.

"Edward, how did you know about the Marcos family?"

"Oh, I saw it on the news when I went to the hospital. It was on a big billboard in the center of town. I remembered it because I thought it was cool. And when your grandmother told me that her company was in crisis, I remembered what I saw," Edward explained. He was initially very nervous that Roselyn would suddenly ask him about it. But luckily he was able to hide his nervousness so well that Roselyn didn't get suspicious at all.

"It's fortunate that you saw the news. With this, we have a way to save our company," Roselyn said.

"Yes, that's right. I pray the best for your company, Roselyn. And wouldn't you know it, you'll get that partnership tonight."

Roselyn smiled softly in response to Edward's words. She felt a little calmer after hearing his words. Ever since she heard the news about the company being in crisis, she had been feeling uneasy. Her mind was filled with questions of how she could save her grandmother's company.

Roselyn nodded and walked after Edward from behind, but just then she saw her Ex-brother-in-law coming towards them. Looking so arrogant and haughty in his expensive suit. One hand was busy holding a cocktail glass.

"Look who I met at this party?" he looked Edward up and down. Mocking his ordinary appearance. "How can a loser like you come to a party for the rich people?"

Roselyn stood beside Edward and was about to speak, but Tradlor spoke first.

"Roselyn, are you seriously asking a poor person like her to come to a fancy party like this? Don't you feel embarrassed, hm?"

"What's wrong with me?" asked Edward.

Tradlor laughed loudly. He looked down at Edward. "You still ask what's wrong with you? Because you're just a poor man. You don't deserve to hang out with rich and important people like us. You should be at home, a servant!"

"Tradlor, who are they?" Edward stared at the back where Tradlor's friends were walking towards them. They both gave Edward a disgusted look.

"Oh, just poor men. Loser. I wonder how he got into a fancy party like this. Did Security not see him coming or did he sneak in," Tradlor said with a mocking smile.

"We came because we were invited. And I came with Roselyn," Edward replied.

"Well, well, how can such a beautiful woman be married to a poor loser like her? I'm sure, as a husband, he's completely useless!"

"Haha... he begs her family wife for money to live on. That's so pathetic!"

"No wonder. Men like that are usually former gigolos!"

"Exactly!" exclaimed Tradlor. He laughed loudly along with his friends. It was satisfying to make fun of Edward in front of Roselyn and she just watched it happen.

"Please mind your manners and speech. Don't regret what you've done," Edward said, trying to remain calm as his anger exploded.

"What can you do, huh?!" snapped Tradlor. He pushed Edward's shoulder with his hand. "What?! You poor useless man!" he swore as he spilled his drink on Edward's shirt.

Edward gasped in shock. So did Roselyn who reflexively moved away from Edward as the drink was splashed on him.

"Tradlor, enough! Your attitude has gone too far!" shouted Roselyn. "Are you okay?" she asked Edward.

"Yes, I'm fine," Edward said, glancing at Roselyn. Then looked sharply at Tradlor and her friends. He had not cleaned his clothes at all. His hands were clenched in anger.

"I swear you will regret this...."

Roselyn looked at Edward. She then told him to go home.

"That's enough. You'd better go back home. You can't stay here looking like this or they'll taunt you even more. And there's no need to engage them because they don't know how to stop," Roselyn said.

"Alright, then I'll go," Edward replied, "but, are you sure you'll be alright here alone?"

"Edward. I'm not a child anymore. I'm an adult and I can take care of myself."

Edward nodded and decided to go back. He walked away leaving everyone behind. But instead of going home, Edward went to the second floor. There, he found Robert waiting for him in a room. There, he had prepared clothes for Edward.

"Young master, what happened to your clothes?" Robert asked.

"Someone poured his drink on my clothes. But we'll deal with that later," said Edward. "Right now, everyone must be waiting for me and this masquerade ball won't get underway until I'm there." His grin.
