Chapter 7. MAN BEHIND MASK

That night, at the party, Roselyn was trying to figure out how to get information about the Marcos family. She needed to know more about them so that she could persuade or ask the Marcos family to cooperate with her family's company.

She did this to help with the crisis in their company. But, she didn't see anyone there at all. Everyone was already wearing masks because of the guidance from the person hosting the event. And Roselyn couldn't recognize any of the faces of the people there. And apparently, the host hadn't given any information about whether the Marcos family was already there or not.

The party seemed mysterious and closed. Not many people were close to the Marcos family. And Roselyn didn't know what to do. Before she came to the party, she should have found out more about the Marcos family so that she could make some plans.

She let out a long sigh. Feeling tired because she had circled and did not find any of the Marcos family at the party. She took a glass of non-alcoholic drink and downed it. And as she tasted the food, she saw a man with a mask walking towards her.

She thought that he was one of the Marcos family.

"Hello, are you of the Marcos family?" asked Roselyn directly as she stood in front of him. But the man laughed out loud.

"Are you looking for a Marcos family?" he took off his mask and Roselyn was surprised to see Tradlor again.

"You're ...."

"You should be wearing your mask, why are you wandering around with your face showing? Are you selling your face in front of everyone or are you trying to find one of the Marcos family members and want to seduce them?" asked Tradlor in a condescending tone.

Roselyn clenched her hands together in anger. She couldn't understand why Tradlor kept bothering her. Even earlier, when she was enjoying a meal with Edward, he had also demeaned him with his bad words. Now that Edward was gone, he turned his condescension to her.

"That's none of your business. And stop condescending people like that," Roselyn said in a stern tone.

"Condescending? What did I do? I'm stating facts. I know you came here to look for opportunities to get cooperation with the Marcos family, right? Because your family's company is in crisis and about to go bankrupt!"

"Watch your mouth, Tradlor. Why do you like to belittle people like this? Is this your hobby?" said Roselyn. She gave Tradlor a sharp look, but it didn't frighten him. "We're at someone's party, so please behave yourself."

"You're the one who should be on your best behavior," snapped Tradlor, "don't try to expect that you'll get what you want here."

"Wh-what?" Roselyn furrowed her brow.

"Instead of you wandering around here without getting anything, why don't you go to the hotel with me? Sleep with me and I'll help your company out of the crisis," Tradlor said. He grinned. Winking one eye with his seductive smile. Making Roselyn shudder in horror at the sight of it.

"You are very impolite. And I am no whore, Tradlor!"

"Then be a whore only for me. Come on, I know you are that kind of woman. No need to hide it from me," she said. Trying to touch both of Roselyn's hands.

Roselyn was frightened and walked away from Tradlor, but instead, she grabbed Roselyn's wrists and was about to hug her.

Roselyn tried to rebel in that situation. She pushed Tradlor's body hard, but her strength was no match. She wanted to scream, but there were many people there. And she didn't want to be considered a whore because of what happened to her.

Someone help me! She screamed silently.

Just as Tradlor was about to kiss her, someone pulled Tradlor's body away from Roselyn until he tipped backward and fell to the floor. Everyone was shocked to see that.

"Miss, are you alright?" asked the man wearing the mask.

Roselyn widened her eyes as she saw the tall, strapping man standing in front of her. Saving her, protecting her from Tradlor's bad attitude. She saw Tradlor endure the embarrassment of being seen by many people and stood up.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine. Thank you," Roselyn said in a quiet voice. Roselyn stared intently at the person standing in front of her. For some reason, she felt that his voice sounded very similar to someone she knew.

"Thank goodness," he whispered with a smile. His full lips looked very charming.

"Damn it! Who the hell are you? How dare you push me to the floor like this, huh?!" cursed Tradlor. He tried to punch the masked man, but his hand was immediately blocked by his arm, and once again, he was pushed backward.

"You'd better behave yourself at a party. And please respect women. How can you be bad to women, hm? Were you never taught by your parents or school how to treat women well?" he said in a tone that was authoritative yet intimidatingly stern.

Roselyn stared intently at the man in front of her. She felt very curious about the face behind the mask. He must be handsome and well-respected. Seeing how he was kind and considerate. He was not from an ordinary family.

"What's your problem?! Don't interfere with our problems. And besides, she's my woman!" shouted Tradlor.

"Since when did I become your woman, huh?!" snapped Roselyn unhappily. She glared at Tradlor. "That's not true. I'm not his woman," she said as the masked man stared back at her.

"Did you hear? She said that she is not your woman. So don't lie. And once again I warn you not to be impudent at someone else's party," he threatened.

"Who are you to tell me what to do, huh?!"

"Me?" he smirked. "I'm a member of the Marcos family. The one who organized this party."

He felt unacceptable because he was treated badly by people who even wore masks without daring to show his face.
