ELIJAH'S ANGER

Dorothy carefully opened the gift box, and to her amazement, she found a beautiful necklace inside that shimmered and sparkled, resembling a genuine diamond piece. Scott, with a hint of arrogance, informed her, "Mrs. Greene, I got this necklace for you from an auction. It's worth 20,000 dollars."

Dorothy was taken aback by Scott's words, left momentarily speechless. Despite her astonishment, she managed to express her gratitude, saying, "Ah, this, I love it. Thank you, thank you very much, but it's too valuable. I can't accept such an expensive gift." However, her actions spoke differently, as she clutched the necklace tightly, fearing it might be taken away from her.

Hayley chimed in, advising her mom, "Mom, you should give it back."

Trying to reassure Dorothy, Scott replied quckly before Hayley could convince her to return it, "Mrs. Greene, don't worry about the value. I specifically looked for this necklace because I knew it would fit your taste. Just take it as you are accepting it on behalf of Hayley. Besides, we are a family, and it's normal for me to give you gifts."

Dorothy's emotions were apparent as she appeared on the verge of tears, but she gratefully responded, "Thank you very much. You should call me mom. Calling me Mrs. Greene sounds like you're alienating me."

Scott responded gently, "But I'm not yet married to Hayley. Doesn't it seem wrong?"

Dorothy replied with conviction, "What is wrong there? You are the only son-in-law I approve. Sooner or later, you will be married to Hayley."

Scott showed respect by bowing his head and said, "Thank you, Mom." Dorothy felt happy to see him being respectful, and she thought, "Having a rich and powerful son-in-law is good. Having a beautiful daughter is great too."

Unknown to Dorothy, Scott sneered inwardly, "Such a stupid woman. I can't believe you are this easy to fool."

Elijah hadn't paid much attention to the necklace until now, but when he finally looked at it, he shook his head and said, "The necklace is a fake."

When Elijah glanced at Scott, he noticed a moment of panic on Scott's face, but Scott quickly hid it so neither Hayley nor Dorothy noticed anything suspicious.

As Scott was about to explain, Dorothy picked up a card from the floor and hit Elijah with it, scolding him, "Be quiet! What do you know? How dare you accuse young master Scott of buying fake things. Get out of here right now! Seeing you makes me want to vomit."

Scott felt satisfied with how the situation unfolded. Even Hayley didn't defend Elijah because she believed he was wrong for slandering Scott. Hayley wouldn't speak ill of anyone, no matter how bad they might be.

Hayley wondered if Elijah was simply jealous. She thought, "Maybe it's normal for a man to be jealous or have emotions, even if he was mentally unstable."

Elijah knew no one would believe him. He wanted to even show them the proof that the necklace Scott gave Dorothy as a gift was a fake and not up to 20,000 dollars but he couldn't for two reasons. First, Dorothy didn't give him the chance to speak and secondly if he had pointed out the truth, Hayley would start suspecting he was well now. So he just remained silent, got up and left the house.

Dorothy shouted, "Never come back here again!" as Elijah stepped out of the door.

Elijah was just taking a casual stroll as he thought of the many events that had unfolded in his life since he was poisoned three years ago. "What was going on with the West family? Who is the current head of the West family? Who exactly poisoned me?" These were the thoughts that kept flowing in his head until a screech sound snapped him back to reality.

A sports car had blocked his way and Scott stepped out from it.

"I can't really tell how you knew the necklace was fake. Its possible that as a fool, you still have a little intelligence but i want you to know that sooner or later, Hayley will be mine." As Scott spoke, he pointed a finger at Elijah.

Elijah was angry that his thought process was interrupted so he grabbed Scott's pointed finger and bent it hard.

"Ah!!!" Scott let out a loud scream of pain. Elijah kicked him to the ground then quickly ran away. Scott to him was a small fry but he feared, the more time he spent with Scott, the more likely he was to expose that fact that he had recovered. After all, no man would be calm when they saw a man who wanted to steal his wife.

Scott yelled in pain as he got up from the ground and warned, "You better run, because if I catch you, I will make sure to kill you."

After running quite a distance, Elijah took out his phone and dialed the same number he had called the previous night. This time, the call went through, and someone answered on the other end. There were no words exchanged between Elijah and the person on the call. After a while, Elijah hung up. Their silence felt like some kind of unspoken code.

At that moment, Elijah really wanted to smoke, but he reached into his pocket and found no money. He let out a mocking laugh as he spoke, "I can't believe the heir of the West family is this broke."

Although Hayley usually gave him some money every day, he had left the house without taking any with him, leaving him with no choice but to walk to his destination.

That evening, in a luxurious villa, a middle-aged man just stepped out of his car and headed inside. The house was in darkness, and as he was about to turn on the lights, a cold voice startled him. "Leo, you've gotten more powerful. I'm no longer of any importance to you, am i?"

Leo, the middle-aged man, trembled and immediately fell to his knees in response to the voice.
