Chapter 16: What Really Happened

“Anyways, Mr. Grey Eugene, you do have quite a sturdy body for someone who is a nerd, I didn’t know you could fight but why did you let Ken keep on beating you up till his death and likewise pretended that you couldn’t throw hands?” Velma asked with curiosity written all over her widened eyes which she used to stare at him while leaning closely towards him.

“Hmm, why don’t we just say that it was a plan which I devised to get people to pity me while receiving beatings that were enough to get people into asking themselves why I haven’t fought back, even with the knife which they claimed that I used in stabbing Abel’s stomach.” Says Eugene as he leans close to Velma, face to face while staring at her eyes.

“*cough* *cough*, that’s probably a lie.” Jixie cuts in as she coughed and slowly dropped the coffee mug which she drank from on the table and continued,

“If that was the case, you would have people already coming to your side to actually confirm if what Ken claimed is the truth, and again, we did make a friend who is always present whenever we have people gossiping, you could say that she’s a queen and an expert when it comes to knowing about the latest rumour and trends, more comparable to the old China’s beggar sect. According to her, Abel was the main victim of Ken’s bullying and actually, Ken’s favourite, before you came in into the picture.

Again, she said that you were a ladies' guy, very popular because of your looks and social or should I say, flirting ability. That was your normal school life till you came to school one day and Amon has already spread his false rumour while standing on his ground as a witness of that incident, without even giving you a chance to speak up.

Unfortunately for you, the rumour became more believable as the police came to pick you up for questioning.”

“Wow, that really sums up how my school life went down to the gutter. Now, to give my own account, I’ll be starting with how I unfortunately met with Abel on my way somewhere.

I saw how he was running, barging against everyone on his way, and then, I heard a slight loud sound and then, Abel ran towards me and tripped on me with a bloodied body, a sniper bullet stuck in the ground close to my feet, and a visible small hole that ran through his cloth as blood gushed out of it.

I got my self stained in his blood, both on my clothes, hands and other parts.

And as for Amon; he was just a bystander who was standing in front of an alleyway, obstructing the pedestrians’ view of sighting Ken and his guys taking in drugs and peeing, after all, they were under aged.

Just as he saw me calling for help, he was there, showing off how wide his smirk could be and called the other guys in the alleyway to come see what was happening.

As for when the police came to pick me up, all they asked was for my cooperation with them and the investigator showered upon me with a barrage of questions about the incident, as I was the first-hand witness in the crime scene that saw Abel go down.

What got me angry was that, Abel didn’t even make the incident public, neither did he let us know what really happened nor that he was now fine, only for me to get the news that he was out of the hospital from Velma, dared to tell the doctor to lie to me about him not making it out. *Sigh* I just got involved in a power struggle between multiple companies and groups and yeah, I’m quite lucky that I was successfully marked out of the case.

I was just waiting for a whole week for the media to broadcast on the news of what happened around here, but only for me to be a fool to keep my eyes on the TV for hours in a week, expecting that a miracle would happen.

Then, just as I resumed school again, all I could see were eyes that were scared in coming in contact with mine and eyes looking at me with disgust and of course, Amon’s testimony even worsened as he claimed that I must have bribed the local police with money.

Well, seeing that I couldn’t save my self anymore, Ken took the opportunity to beat me up however he wanted in the name of doing a righteous and just deed, which won the students’ heart as well as the teachers.

Despite the norm of teachers not giving a fuck about the students’ affairs, they actually didn’t interfere because of the fear they had for me.

And with that strategy, Ken was able to become the students’ president. All I wanted was a peaceful school life and to be able to run away from my past decision and not to dwell in such violent mistaken fate that was bestowed upon me.”

“Wow, this now makes everything understandable. Okay guys, I’ll be heading back to school, make sure to finish off your order and head back to school after.” Jixie announced and left as if she was in a hurry.

“That bitch! Who does she think she is fooling? She just ate up quickly and ran off in order to avoid any problems if the money pitcher and Big D brought to the table wasn’t enough.” Velma complained with her arms folded and her pouting.

“Haha, no need for the worries, I’ll just pay up, so let’s head out then.” Eugene suggested.

“Uhm, do you have enough money at your disposal?” Velma asked hesitantly.

“Huh? Why? Any problem?” He replied with a confused expression.

“Lets go to an arcade and punch into some fighting gaming machine and imagine that the villains are the whole school.” Velma suggested.

Eugene got silent and thought about Velma’s idea before answering excitedly, “Yeah, that’s probably the best way to relieve some stress, let’s head out now!”

Eugene then called onto the waiter, paid up and they both left for the arcade.
