“Father, when you said you wanted me to be the CEO of the rest of your companies. What did you mean by that?” Daxon asks.

“I have hotels, restaurants, schools and hospitals. They are all subsidiaries of Bright group which is the first company that I started after I left for the states.” Christopher says.

“What!? Father, you are the owner of Bright group? It is the number one ranking company in the world.” Daxon says and his voice quakes in disbelief.

“Yes, son. I’m aware of where my company stands. What I’m saying is, you are my heir and it is time you learnt the ways of business.”

Daxon’s steps back, he pushes his hair back and tries to grasp all the information that is before him. How can his life change in such a way? Is this a dream? Daxon pinches himself on his hand to realize if he is awake or not.

“Son, you are awake and it’s not a dream.” Christopher says, placing a hand on his son’s shoulder.

“It will take me forever to realize that this is now my life. You have no idea what I’ve been through dad. I would have given up on life if your men didn’t find me at the time they did.” Daxon says.

“Here, son. This is a black card, it contains funds of our direct profit and I’m the only one who has a pair. I had my bank manager create another one for you.”

“Sydney, where is it?” Christopher asks.

“Here you go, sir.” Sydney hands over the card to Daxon and he looks at it.

“The sky is your limit on that card, son.” Christopher says.

Daxon’s stares at the hard card. It is in the color of sheer black and his name, along with his surname is in-script in gold print. His mouth is opened as he looks at the card, a wide smile grows on his face.

“There is over a hundred billion on that card.” You can splurge as much as you want, Daxon. Christopher says.

Daxon’s eyes widen in disbelief. How did he change from having nothing in his account to having a whole hundred billion at his disposal? Stunned and shocked, Daxon throws his hands around his father and embraces him.

“Father, a hundred billion!? How much exactly are you worth to put in a whole hundred billion on this card?” Daxon asks.

Christopher crosses his legs before answering his son.

“Son, all Bright group subsidiaries bring in at least thirty billion every year. We also run a charity for orphans, the homeless and a foundation for the sick. You will be very busy son but don’t worry, I’m leaving my best assets with you.”

“Sydney and Michael will work with you closely.” Also, there will be a press conference tomorrow and you will be introduced as my heir to Bright group. The media will be present, you will be asked questions and I will reinstate you as my heir.

“I need you to rest and prepare yourself for tomorrow. Okay?” Christopher says.

“Okay, dad.” Daxon says.

“We will come to the hotel as early as possible to accompany you to Bright group, boss.” Michael says to Daxon and Sydney nods her head too.

“Is 8am good enough, young master? We understand that you could be tired since it has been a long day and it must all seem overwhelming to you.” Sydney asks.

“No, Sydney, thank you for your concern.” The time is good enough. I am shocked by the information I have received in the past hour but this is a miracle that I have been praying for all my life. I would be a coward to not face it.”

“Also, Dad, I want to represent you tomorrow and be a son that you would be proud of.” Daxon says and his father looks at him proudly.

“I am already proud of you son. Sydney, Michael, the both of you can be on your way now.” Christopher says and they take their leave.

“Son, what about your marriage…my men told me that they found you at a bus stop with your luggages?”

Daxon’s face shows pain when his father brings up his marriage. In that instance, his father can tell that his marriage is nothing but a disaster.

“I am no longer married. I found out that my wife married me as a bet. All this while, I thought I had to prove my worthiness to her but it turns out that I was never worthy of her.She cheated on me and divorced me brutally.”

“To her, I’m nothing but garbage.” Daxon says.

“I’m very sorry about that son. I will make sure you are never treated like that ever again! All those who insulted you will bow to you.”

“Lewis, please take my son to the VIP lounge where he can rest.” Christopher says and Daxon hugs his father one last time.

Daxon bids his father goodbye and Lewis escorts him to the VIP lounge. Along with Lewis, all the men in suits follow him and it brings such a huge attention upon him in the hotel lobby. As Daxon walks, he can see the look on everyone’s faces—they are wondering who he is and how he commands such authority.

As he passes, people are whispering and guessing his identity, Daxon is confused on how he should act or react to their gazes. He realizes that it could be because of his poor choice of clothing, he is protected like a royal prince but he is dressed like a servant.

“However, it doesn’t matter, his ego has been raised.” The elevator is cleared for Daxon and Lewis accompanies him inside.

For the first time ever, Daxon is inside a ten star hotel—an environment designed for the most influential people. At a glimpse, Daxon is experiencing a level of sophistication and refinement that defines true luxury at its finest.

There are cascading chandeliers at the center of the VIP lobby and a serene garden, creating a seamless blend of nature and luxury. At every corner, there are panoramic views, adorned with tasteful decor and plush furnishings.

“Daxon?”

“Is that you?” A voice calls out to Daxon and he turns in direction of the sound. He didn’t have to look any further, it was Veronica's closest friend, Cecilia.

She is one of her friends who is definitely aware that his and Veronica’s marriage was nothing but a bet. But now, she has no idea that Daxon has risen from the ashes.
