77. A Newfound Caution

In the dimly lit alleyway that connected Leonard's school to his neighborhood, Edgar and his gang of friends lay in wait. They had strategically positioned themselves behind large trash cans and broken crates, hidden from view. It was evening, and the fading light cast long shadows, adding an eerie atmosphere to the already tense situation.

As Leonard made his way home, his footsteps echoing through the narrow passage, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was being watched. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, alerting him to the imminent danger and then he heard it—a low, menacing chuckle from the darkness.

Emerging from the shadows, Edgar stepped forward, his gang flanking him like a pack of loyal followers. With a sneer on his face, he warned Leonard to stay off his path, his voice laced with arrogance and malice.

"Leonard, you better watch yourself," Edgar growled, his eyes narrowing. "This is my territory. If you dare cross it, I'll make sure you regret it."
