Chapter 33

After spitting water out of his mouth, Zach coughed. It felt strange and made him dizzy. Because water had entered his ear canal, he lightly hit his head while tilting.

Rebecca was curled up unconscious not far from his location. Zach only became aware of her presence after Rebecca groaned and began to open her eyes.

"Are you okay, Rebecca?"

Zach crawled up next to Rebecca. He assisted the girl in sitting up and scraping her hair.

"We're safe, Zach. Where have the others gone?" She asked softly.

Zach realized that Sean and Yuna were not with them. There are only coral reefs and strange trees around them.

A small lake stretches through the brownish-white land. Zach took a step towards the lake. He wanted to use water to wash his salty tongue from the seawater. The water in the lake, on the other hand, appears to taste like seawater.

"Oh my gosh, it's so salty!"

"Is the lake linked to the sea?"

"It shouldn't be because there isn't a river to connect them. And, remember, we just drowned?
