Chapter 1: Shi Yan's Unrequited Love.

It was a sunny day, the restaurant is quite packed as orders kept on filling up. Even as a fast-food restaurant with more than 100 employees, none of them couldn't even get free time.

"D*mn it, the boss should hire more people, the restaurant is too big for just us to work here." A server complained while wiping the table.

"Yeah, half of us are even being sent to deliver outside." Another server added. He was helping him and as both of them were complaining, they still kept a smile on their faces.

Shi Yan, who's the head of their team couldn't help but chuckle as he nodded: "Yeah, but I mean, the salary is good, so I can't complain much."

"Yeah, here's our captain alright!" The other two servers couldn't help but chuckle.

Shi Yan is a 20-year-old man, sadly, he couldn't graduate from college as he was bullied by many middle and high-class people. Even with his scholarship, he was treated like a bug just for being an orphan.

In the university which he thought could change his life for the better, instead became the first step to his downfall.

Luckily, out of the few hundred millionaires from his school, one of them became his friend. 

After quiting university from the bullies, this friend who was also a pushover had a backing, his family is quite rich and was hired as one of the team captains of the server.

"Captain, you're earning 30 cronz per hour, we're earning 20 cronz per hour, there's a massive difference there!" Another server jokingly teased.

[Cronz: used by the northern continent as currency. Within the Dirius Federation, it's the only way for any transactions other than the money changer where you can exchange money from other allied continents to be used within the territory of the Dirius Federation.]

Shi Yan chuckled and patted his shoulder: "Don't worry, I won't forget to give the manager good words about your performances when you guys ask for a raise or promotion!" 

"Hahaha! That's why we love you, captain!"

"Right!"

"Only our captain loves us this much, not even my parents could compare."

Shi Yan chuckled and shook his head: "Now now, stop licking my boots and more hard work!"

"Yes!" All of the servers under Shi Yan became motivated after his friendly chatter with them.

Shi Yan smiled and nodded at them, he waved his hand: "Okay guys, I'll leave you be here for now, I'll take a break and smoke for a bit."

"Not fair! We want a break too!"

"Yeah! Us too!"

Shi Yan smiled at them, took a stick of cigarette from his pocket, and waved his hand: "Then get promoted! That's the fastest way you guys could take more breaks!"

"Yeah!"

Shi Yan shook his head and walked out of the private room.

As he took his lighter and started to light his cigar, a shadow slowly approached him from the side.

Shi Yan's peripheral vision got itchy and he couldn't help but look at who it is that was approaching him.

He couldn't help but be shocked.

"Shi Yan? Is that you?"

A beautiful lady with silky black hair asked, her long slender legs and beautiful snow-like shoulders could definitely make many people drool over her.

Although her face isn't comparable to models, she's definitely beautiful, above average kind of beautiful.

Shi Yan just stared at her for a while.

Meanwhile, the beautiful lady looked at him from top to bottom and couldn't help but chuckle: "I mean, if you finally see a classmate from high school after a long time, you should be able to greet them or else, I'll feel really awkward, you know?"

Shi Yun woke up from his daze as he asked: "Yenan? You're grown more beautiful since the last time I saw you..."

Yenan, his first love ever that was never meant to be, became more beautiful in his eyes.

Yenan chuckled: "I mean, the last thing you should do to a classmate you've never seen in a while should be not to flirt with them."

"T-that... I'm not flirting, I'm just stating facts." Shi Yan blushed as he scratched the back of his head.

Yenan with two long beautiful fingers covering her lips chuckled once more and replied: "I guess I'm not that beautiful if you're not flirting with me then."

"T-t-t-this... U-uh..." Shi Yan was left speechless for a while.

Yenan couldn't help but chuckle. She then stroked her long black hair to the back of her ear, showing her neck that looked like it was carved by a master.

Ulp! Shi Yan couldn't help but gulp down a mouthful of saliva, else, he'll end up drooling.

As a 20-year-old virgin, this is too seductive!

Yenan chuckled at his expression: "Just kidding, hays, you're still too serious when you talk to me."

"You know, when you were laughing with your friends in high school, I wish you could talk to me like that too."

As those words were said, Shi Yan didn't even digest everything and could only think: 'She was looking at me from back then?'

Shi Yan smiled awkwardly and scratched the back of his head: "T-that, I mean, we weren't that close before, so I couldn't help it."

Yenan smiled and nodded: "I know, I was just kidding you, hehe."

Yenan then changed the topic: "So, you're a captain now huh? I thought you'd still be in university like me."

Hearing this, Shi Yan's smiling face suddenly changed, his eyes became rather fallen and replied: "A lot of things happened and I end up here after getting helped by a friend."

"A friend? Is it a girl?" Yenan asked.

Shi Yan chuckled: "Nah, the only friends I have are all men."

Yenan chuckled and slightly pretended to push his shoulder: "Just kidding."

Then, just as though she remembered something, she looked at her watch and said: "I need to go, I have appointments with my friends over there."

As she finished speaking, she took one of the cards hanging on Shi Yan's vest and placed another one of her own in it: "This is your info, right? Don't hesitate to call me if you need something! Bye!"

After saying those words, she chucked the card in her purse and went her own way.

Shi Yan's smile couldn't stop as he stomped the cigar that wasn't even lit and went inside once more.

Meanwhile, as Yenan entered the private room, a man that was waiting for her together with a dozen or so people asked: "Who was that?"

Yenan replied with a smile: "Oh, a friend of mine from high school, his name is Shi Yan, and he also works here."

Hearing that name, the man was quite bewildered before he started smiling for some reason.
