20. At the Bank.

"I did it," Clifford responded. Henry slowly shifted his gaze to give him a shocked stare.

"What?" Stella exclaimed as she couldn't believe what she was hearing. So it happened under her nose and she never knew?

With tightly clenched fists, Henry questioned, "What the hell is going on?" Despite his urge to throw a punch, he refrained, and decided to wait for him to reply.

Clifford lowered his head in contrition, remorseful. "Ma'am, young master, I'm truly sorry for not saying it sooner, but Mr. Reuben asked me to bring the frame right before he passed away. He gave me instructions to place it there."

"I didn't realize the significance of it so I thought it wasn't important." Fidgeting with his hands, he continued, "Also, I didn't have time to ask him about it before he passed away."

The room fell into a heavy silence as he finished speaking, and then, with a deep sigh, he slowly sank to his knees.

"I never meant this to happen, I'm really sorry," he apologized as Henry sighed.
