88: Surveying the room

Peering through the window, Henry saw a large four poster bed dressed in silk sheets. Gaudy gold furnishings filled the space. This had to be Sage's room.

Henry laughed quietly. Although Sage had cheated Irene and taken her fortune, it was obvious that it wasn't enough to satisfy his greed. He couldn't afford a king-sized bed with the money he had got.

Well, whether Beatrice was there or not, it was none of his business.

Henry frowned, doubts creeping in. Or was his assumption wrong? That his lawyer will be in this house? But where exactly?

He stood in the empty upstairs hallway, stranded. There were three doors that were ajar and were the rooms without any decorations or furniture.

As for Sage's room, he also considered it useless and empty since there was no trace of human in it.

Henry exhaled, running a hand through his hair. This was really confusing and as he checked around, he saw no other rooms upstairs apart from these four rooms.
