He tried to wrap his head around the events that were going on right before him. He wished that it was true, that he was the Young master of some Consortium but he knew that was so not possible.

"I think you have gotten the wrong person" He replied with a stale look on his face.

"I am as good as nobody." He finally admitted his mistake once and for all.

"Young master Vincent. I know that this is so sudden but just come with me and I am going to explain everything to you." She said,

As much as he wanted to reach out to her and come with her, he knew that there was certainly no use in doing that since it was going to lead to the same thing.

He shook his head instantly with a pause and continued his walk out of the vicinity.

"There is no use of that. We should not waste each other's time." He finalized and was leaving.

But she said a word that made his feet meet with a sudden pause.

"Don't you want to know what happened to your father?" She said, making him come to an abrupt stop.

The words resounded in his head multiple times. Memories of the past running through his mind already.

His father was dead already but the manner of his death was something that taunted him forever.

Apart from his Immediate family nobody knew about this part of him, not even Elizabeth because he had fought to forget it forever.

"Then who could she be?" The thoughts rang in his head multiple times as he turned around towards the strange lady.

'Tell me. Who are you and how come you know so much about me?" He inquired swiftly staring right into her eyes as though he was searching for answers.

"Just come with him, I am going to explain everything to you. It's already running late and I know ya you have nowhere to go." She added once again.

He knew that she had a point there so he followed them closely from behind on the bet that they were going to tell him everything that he needed to know.

They got into a Porsche with a soundless engine and afterward, they got to stop after a few hours of driving.

Vincent could not help but marveled at the sight of the building that laid before him, snapping him off of his eyes.

The strange lady could see the expression that was written all over his face and she smiled almost immediately

"Do you like it?" She inquired.

"Who wouldn't? It's the best that I have seen in the whole of the city." He added to his initial words.

His steps were steady as he was frightened to rub dirt on the red carpet that lay to the inner part of the building.

Finally, they got into it and he could not help but marvel at the sight. Before any talk, he was made to eat, bathe, and offered a good pair of clothes.

Afterward, he returned to the stranger. "Thanks for everything but this isn't the reason that I am here. You said you were going to tell me about my father."

"Yeah. And he is dead as the both of us know was the fact that he was murdered."

The words were more like a dagger that dug right through his heart.

"And he died after his burial. He wasn't the one in that corpse." She announced once again tearing his heart into shreds.

Tears poured down from his eyes almost immediately at the thought of the hell that his father had to go through before his death, he was broken.

"Tell me who is responsible for the death of my father." He half yelled, his voice burning with so much fury and pain at the same time.

"I think you should know the answer to that question. Just think about it, the happenings during his death and after." She added once again.

Random thoughts ran through his mind almost immediately.

After the death of his father, his uncle took everything that he owned away from him, claiming that they were willed to him and he got absolutely nothing.

He slammed on the seat, the truth had been right before his eyes and he never noticed it. His hands were clenched tightly with anger.

"You shouldn't be thinking of revenge 'cause that's not what your father wanted for you. Rather, you should be thinking about taking care of what he left behind as his heir." She added.

But a slight chuckle that expressed his inner pain escaped from his mouth almost immediately.

"The heir of nothing you mean right?"

"I would not be so sure. You are the owner of the biggest consortium in the world now. The chin chain Consortium."

Immediately the strange lady spat out the words in her mouth, he could not help but burst out into laughter almost immediately

Thoughts ran through his head. Even though his father was a millionaire before his death, the stock of his company was nothing compared to the biggest consortium with a total asset of over a trillion dollars.

"Even in my dreams, I know that isn't possible." He said slightly.

"I wouldn't be so sure if I were you." She added once again.

She got off the seat that she was sitting in and proceeded to the drawer at the far end of the room.

Afterwards, she pulled off some papers and reached out to Vincent.

His jaw dropped immediately at the sight that lay before him as he was finding it difficult to believe.

Vincent opened his mouth to speak but words seemed to have failed him so suddenly.

"But how is this even possible? Are you trying to play a trick on me?" He could not help but inquire.

"No, I am just doing as I have been instructed to." She said once again but that only got him even more confused than he was already.

But from the look on her face, he could already tell that she was going to explain further.

"Your father before his death could already see the sign that was written on the wall.

When he was creating the company that is currently run by your uncle, he had created another alongside your identity Instead. That company has grown to what is now known as the Chin Chain Consortium.

The nickname that you were given on your birthday." Anna went ahead to explain every single detail of it to him.

He was still finding it difficult to believe. Random thoughts already running through his mind.

Then, he turned around towards Anna with an inquisition written all over his face.

"If it was here all these while, why was I left to suffer these years of hardship on the street?" He could not help but inquire.

"As I said earlier. I'm only doing as I have been instructed to do. But taking the point of view of your father having to watch everything go down on him, it was only wise to send you out until it was time for you to be able to saddle the responsibility of taking over a company."

"And lest I forget." She said clapping her hands slightly

Soon, a group of men walked gradually into the room with a large machine in their hands after which a capture of his fingerprints was taken.

Even though he didn't know what was being done, he went through every single detail of it without arguing even for a single moment.

But after they were done, he turned around slowly towards Anna and finally inquired.

"What was that for?" The words streamed out of his mouth.

"Your father said it's your birthday gift and the gift for passing the test too." She said but her words only got him even more confused than he was already.

"I don't understand what you are talking about. He expressed.

"Your father wanted a sum of 10 billion dollars to be given to you as your birthday gift and since it can not be held in a single account, I had a meeting with the central bank governor yesterday.

So that the morning would be binding to all the banks and you will be able to access it through just your fingerprint."

After she mentioned a large amount of money, he could hardly hear the words that followed suit afterward.

10 billion dollars wasn't just a large sum of money, it was equivalent to all his uncle's assets and could also pay off all his debts.

"He just got the worth of a high-ranking company as a mere gift?" The thoughts clouded his mind.

“Will it be hours every day that you work on him?” Nesryn’s words were steady, almost flat, and yet … The woman was not a creature who took well to a cage. I shall send word if you are needed.”“What about moving him around?”The lord’s eyes flashed at that. And though Irene was predisposed to chuck them both to the ruks, she noted the lord’s simmering outrage and self-loathing at the words and found herself saying, “I can handle most of it, but I believe Lord Westfall is more than capable of transporting himself.”Something like wary gratitude shot across his face. But he just said to Nesryn, “And I can ask my own damn questions.”Guilt flashed across Nesryn’s face, even as she stiffened. But she nodded, biting her lip, before she murmured to Vincent , “I had some invitations yesterday.”

Of all the rooms in the Torre Cesme, Irene Towers loved this one best.Perhaps it was because the room, located at the very pinnacle of the pale-stoned tower and its sprawling complex below, had unparalleled views of the sunset over Antica.Perhaps it was because this was the place where she’d felt the first shred of safety in nearly ten years. The place she had first looked upon the ancient woman now sitting across the paper- and book-strewn desk, and heard the words that changed everything: You are welcome here, Irene Towers. It had been over two years since then. Two years of working here, living here, in this tower and in this city of so many peoples, so many foods and caches of knowledge. It had been all she’d dreamed it would be—and she had seized every opportunity, every challenge, with both hands. Had studied and listened and practiced and saved lives, changed them, until she had climbed to the very top of her class. Until an unknown healer’s daughter from Benjamin was appr
