Chapter 04

There was one question in his head that needed to be answered and that was the question of the net worth of his company.

Turning around towards Anna, he could not help but open his mouth to inquire.

"What's the network of the company?" He finally inquired, curiosity sprinkled all over his voice.

There was a sudden pause in the air as he waited patiently for a response from him.

"I think ten trillion dollars as at the last time I inquired from the general accountant. It might have increased." She explained to him.

His eyes bulged out from his eye socket at the sound of the words almost immediately as he could not believe what he just heard.

His heart was already beating hard against his chest as though it was going to burst through.

Random thoughts ran through his mind as to how powerful he had become so suddenly.

"I will leave you to rest now, young master, you have a lot tomorrow." She noted with a slight bow, walking away slowly from the place.

Getting into the clothes seemed way too uncomfortable for him so he just had to use the previous ones that he had already.

The bed was fluffy and he could say that everything was as good as perfect. His heart beating hard against his chest as though it was going to burst through.

The next morning, he had already been informed that he would have a lot of things to do.

There was a planned meeting where he would get to be introduced to all the heirs of the city, but before then Anna already told him that they would be going to the mall to get some clothes.

"Would that be necessary?" He could not help it, a bit inquired staring right into Anna's eyes as she stood before him.

"Yes young Master, this is going to be your first meeting with the world since you were born." She finally said with so much respect in her voice but Vincent was not going to listen to the word that she had to say.

All this while, he was already used to leading a low-key life, and forcing things on him now was going to make a lot more difference.

Anna could see the resistance that was written all over his face and she said a way that made him pause to think for a while.

"You master, this list was made by your father so I don't have control over them, I am only following orders." She said once again.

The words seemed to hit the core of his being, weakening him right to his bones and he let out a sigh of defeat.

"Okay." A finally let out a smile towered over her lips, even though she didn't spit out another word from her mouth.

"But. I will be going alone." He finally let out to her disappointment

She had already prepared the best of the cars to take him to the best exclusive mall that could be found in the city.

But after the time that she had spent trying to persuade him on the latter, she knew that there was nothing that she could do about it now.

She let out a really deep sigh almost immediately that expressed her defeat.

"Okay, Young master. A reservation has already been made for you at the Jade Mall." She finally went ahead to inform him.

In turn, Vincent nodded his head. He took his bath for the morning and took a cab to the mall.

It intended to get clothes that were not way too flashy but after hitting through every single detail of the place, he could not get a glimpse of anything that fitted into his description.

"An exclusive hotel isn't it." He thought in his head.

And finally, his eyes caught up with a piece of clothing that was caught up in a shoe glass.

If there was any way that he could describe it, it was just what he wanted with a staggering price tag.

His hands sped off towards the glass but before he could feel it, he heard a voice from behind that made him pull a sudden halt.

"How many more shoplifters are we going to get in a week?" He heard the voice coming to him from behind with a hiss on the lips.

He made a sudden turn towards the direction of the sound to see who it was, only to notice that it was one of the sellers there.

He recognized the face that was sitting next to him almost immediately. It was Marble, a girl from his varsity.

Immediately their eyes crossed the paths, her face twisted into a swift frown immediately and her nostrils twitched with irritation.

"What do you think that you are doing here?" She scoffed after which a chuckle escaped from her mouth.

"After being disgraced before the whole school, do you think that this is the place for you to start seeking out consolation or something?

"Well sorry to disappoint, this place is a mall so you should find somewhere else."

Throughout the whole speech, Vincent kept a straight face, waiting for her to spit out all the words that she had in her head before going ahead to speak.

"And I was praying for potential customers as the boss already promised 40% to anyone that will be able to sell these clothes but the only thing that I keep getting are scumbags like you." She muttered under her breath but it was loud enough for him to hear.

"Are you done?" He shot a straight face at her and the words that he just spoke seemed to flare up again.

"Pardon?" She shot a deadly glare at him that was enough to throw anyone off balance but he was not moved even for a single moment.

"Oh too bad it seems you still have more to say. But when you feel like you are done, you can get me the clothes. Proper package please." He muttered the words nonchalantly.

Immediately he spat out the words from his mouth, she could not hold back the astonishment that was written all over her face.

And afterward, she burst out into laughter until a strand of tears escaped from her eyes.

"Are you for real right now?" She laughed even harder, clutching hard to her already aching stomach.

Finally, she was able to get a grip of herself as she rose slowly, staring right into his eyes. Her laughter was soon replaced by a sudden snare.

"Seemed the public embarrassment got into that head of yours." She snared.

"First lying that poor Sonia is your girlfriend when she was just trying to be nice to you and what next, telling me that you want to get something that could feed you your entire life?

Aren't you the biggest psycho that I have ever been?"

Vincent could already feel his anger rising steeply but he clutched his hands to control it.

"And what makes you feel like I can't afford it?" His confidence was way too baffling to Marble.

She was confused as to why he was talking in such a manner but after thinking about the way that she spoke the previous day before everyone, it was not surprising to him anymore.

"Guess you are good at what you do, con artist." She thought in her head.

"I think the question should be the other way around."

She took a swift look From his head to his toe. Just take a good look at yourself and I think that you will be able to find the answer.

"Can you even afford to eat three square meals daily?" She wondered

Vincent could feel his heart pounding on his chest but he was able to resist the urge to display his anger openly.

"And what if I tell you that I will be able to afford the whole mall without even a flinch in my network?" He said swiftly.

Miracle couldn't phantom the words that he just spat out from his mouth, her jaws still far apart with so much shock.

This time, she could not hold back the rage that was beginning to boil over right from the inner part of her.

Her growl was enough to rip him into a million pieces.

"Have you gone mad?" She thundered with so much hatred in her voice ready to tear him apart into a million pieces.

Vincent was about to give her a response but she would not allow him to spit out a word from his mouth anymore.

"Enough." She shot a deadly glare at him.

"I have heard enough of you for one day." She thundered, her voice laced with so much anger.
