The sound of TV playing in the room served as background noise. Angelica’s body felt like it was pierced by a thousand needles.

She groaned as she tried to sit up, her body resisting any form of movement she tried to make.

“Hey,” Xavier greeted, his eyes filled with worry as he rushed to her side.

“Water,” Angelica’s voice croaked, her mouth felt like it was filled with sand paper.

“Small sips,” Xavier cautioned, placing the glass by her mouth.

The water was refreshing, Angelica released a long sigh as the water flowed down her throat.

“Mrs. Constantine, I see that you are awake,” Doctor mark said, smiling softly a the couple.

Xavier nodded at the doctor a silent greeting, “doctor mark,” he said shaking his hand.

“hi,” Angelica greeted, with confusion written all over face. The last thing she could recall was the police barging into the building Oliver had kept her confined in.

“Today is the fifth day after your rescue,” the doctor explained.
