“Try her number again,” Angelica said to Xavier. It was almost midnight and Peggy hadn’t returned from the hospital. The last time they spoke she said she was almost done and was ready to head home. “It’s not connecting,” Xavier replied, looking equally worried. “Maybe she had gone on a date,” Xavier tried to reason, but even he knew that Peggy wouldn’t take a step without informing Angelica.
