“Try her number again,” Angelica said to Xavier.

It was almost midnight and Peggy hadn’t returned from the hospital. The last time they spoke she said she was almost done and was ready to head home.

“It’s not connecting,” Xavier replied, looking equally worried.

“Maybe she had gone on a date,” Xavier tried to reason, but even he knew that Peggy wouldn’t take a step without informing Angelica.

I just called the hospital, and they said she had left right after paying for Alex’s bill.

“That isn’t right?” Xavier scrunched his face in confusion.

“She was still hanging around after she paid, we saw her in the video call,” Xavier commented.

“Something fishy is going on” Xavier said.

“I know, the nurse who had talked to me sounded off, it was like she was reading off a script,” Angelica said.

“We will head over there first thing tomorrow morning, there isn’t much we can do now,” Xavier said.

“I’m sure she’s alright, might just be delayed in traffic,” Xavier tried to calm Angelica.
