Chapter 13
The room was silent.

Dead silent.

The Cadmans seemed to be petrified by what they heard and were rooted in place.

“Valerie… Who, who did you say that man was?”

Elmer, head of the Cadman family, had an expression of disbelief on his face as he turned to Valerie to clarify.

“I-It’s… Stellar Walker!” Valerie shouted.

“Stellar Walker of Fantastic Group? The man you asked to help solve our family’s crisis?” Elmer asked again, refusing to believe it.

“I-It’s him!”

Elmer fell to the floor right after Valerie nodded. His expression was one of dejected understanding when he murmured, “How? How is this possible?”

The other members of the Cadman family looked aghast as well.

The Fantastic Group was a super financial group with influence in a great portion of Somerland. Its assets were priceless and its status was unparalleled!

As a representative of Fantastic Group in charge of the matters in Sea City, Stellar’s social standing was much much higher than the Cadmans. In fact, not even the Grahams or the Hanks held a candle to Stellar’s status.

Yet… Stellar had just greeted Fred with extreme respect. The very man the Cadmans had been belittling and calling a good-for-nothing wimp for the past five years.

No way!

“Something must be wrong! This can’t be possible!”

Valerie’s mother, Karen shouted out suddenly after a while. She grabbed Valerie’s shoulder as she shouted, “You must be exhausted, right, Valerie? That’s why… that’s why you mistook him for Stellar Walker.

“Otherwise… Fred is a wimp! There’s no way someone as powerful as Mr. Walker would talk to him so respectfully! There’s no way!”

‘Mistook him for someone else?’

Henry suddenly scoffed when he heard them. ‘What a bunch of idiots. Fred called me, a managerial officer from the Health Center, and Hunter Walls, the so-called Imperial Physician of Our Times with just a single phone call.

‘So what if Stellar greeted him with respect?’

Still, after working with officials for years, Henry knew that it was only human nature. After all, it was much easier to undermine someone than admit that someone was outstanding. Even more so when this person was someone you had treated with nothing but disdain for years. People were more willing to deceive themselves than acknowledge someone they had been belittling was suddenly beyond reach.

As expected, the Cadmans immediately took a breath of relief after hearing her explanation and agreed with her.

“That’s right! There’s no way we wouldn’t know who Fred is after these five years! He’s a wimp through and through!”

“As if the true Mr. Walker would revere him when someone like Fred wouldn’t even have the right to be in Mr. Walker’s vicinity! You must be mistaken, Valerie!”

“No wonder! You almost gave me a heart attack when you mistook him for Stellar Walker, Valerie!”

Now, Valerie began to wonder whether she was actually mistaken.

After all, Stellar had only barged in for a moment before he left the room with Fred.

“Alright!”

After confirming that it was a false alarm, Elmer slowly got back to his feet and resumed his posture as the head of the family. “Settle down, everyone. Let’s put aside the matter with the wimp for now. Mr. Hanks is still here, let’s not make a fool out of ourselves!”

With that, Elmer turned around to apologize to Yousef, only to be befuddled.

There was no one behind him—Mr. Hanks was nowhere to be found.

“W-Where did Mr. Hanks go?”

“Great One? Fantastic Group? This is bad! Very bad!”

At the entrance of City North Center Hospital was Yousef, the man the Cadmans were currently looking for. His complexion was pale as he walked out the doors frantically toward the car park.

He looked nothing like the arrogant gentleman in the hospital room moments ago.

After all, Valerie was not the only one who recognized Stellar Walker. Yousef had recognized the man too and heard clearly how Stellar greeted Fred…

‘He called him the Great One!’

The Hanks were a renowned and extremely powerful family in Sea City.

In fact, the Hanks and the Grahams together were an unparalleled force within Sea City.

However, Yousef himself knew very well that everything his family had actually belonged to Fantastic Group!

Five years ago, the Hanks family was still one of the many small families in Sea City. Then, Fantastic Group chose them to manage their real estate business in Sea City. That was how they became the powerful family they were today.

To make it simple, the Hanks were only the way they were today thanks to Fantastic Group.

Moreover, when Fantastic Group employed both the Hanks and the Grahams to help manage their assets, Fantastic Group made it clear that once their Great One returned, the assets would be returned to the Great One.

Five years have passed and there had yet to be any news of the Great One’s return. As such, the Hanks started to treat those assets as if they were their own. Now… the Great One had appeared in front of Yousef, and of all the people… it was Fred.

“How is that possible? He… He can’t even keep his own wife! How is he the Great One?”

Yousef kept telling himself that he must have heard wrongly, but his expression had only gotten more frantic with each passing second. The man proceeded to knock against a pole in the parking lot when he reversed his car.

Not that he stopped to care. Yousef stepped hard on the accelerator and drove away.

“What a fool.”

What Yousef did not know was that while he drove off, there were two men watching him from the window of the highest floor in the hospital.

It was Fred and Stellar who had just left the hospital room.

Moreover, Stellar was the one who called Yousef a fool.

Stellar could easily infer the Hanks family’s intentions just from Yousef’s reaction.

Not that Stellar was worried—the Hanks family posed no threat to them at all.

They could try, but all their struggle would be for naught.

Most importantly, Stellar knew that a few minutes ago, Fred’s five-year promise with the old Mr. Cadman had come to an end.

With this thought in mind, Stellar said excitedly, “Now that you’ve fulfilled those five years, p-please come back, Great One! After all, we… and your legacy have been waiting for you!”

With that, Stellar got down on one knee in front of Fred.

“These five years sure passed quickly.”

Fred did not offer Stellar a response to the request. Instead, he merely looked at the great Sea City from the window. After a while, he asked, “The Hanks' assets used to be mine?”

“Yes, Great One!”

Stellar quickly nodded. “Not just the Hanks. The Grahams’ assets are yours too! When you went missing five years ago, Great One, we employed people everywhere to manage your businesses for you! S-Since you know that we’re not exactly businessmen…”

“Hmph, not businessmen? Or do you just not wish to involve yourselves?”

Fred chuckled softly. “Since they belong to me, then I’ll get them back. Oh, and…”

Then, Fred waved his hand and the world outside changed. The shape of the clouds turned into phoenixes and dragons.

“Tell them that Frederick Hoffman is back!”

Stellar looked extremely thrilled by what he heard and began to shake in excitement.

After all, he knew that when Fred—when Frederick said he was back, he was talking about the living legend that had shocked the world five years ago!
