Chapter 2

"Let's go down." Zachary, who had just opened the car door, immediately contacted Naura.

His heavy voice caught Naura's attention. She held Zachary's hand awkwardly and exited the car. When she had done that, her eyes were immediately distracted by the manor in front of her.

"We have arrived." Zachary spoke softly again. The voice seemed to be signalling Naura to get off immediately.

Naura nodded.

Naura walked and stopped her steps for a moment. Naura's gaze was fixed on the building in front of her. The spacious place seemed to stand proudly, beating the Harvey family's private villa. She stared at Zachary momentarily, she could hardly believe that Zachary would take her to a manor she had never imagined.

Who is this man?

Before this, Naura had never known Zachary's background. She only thought he was a poor man who wanted half of the Harvey family fortune. If he didn't need money, there was no way he would like to be with this ugly man. She had dirty thoughts about the man holding her hand right now. But the enormous size of the manor now made her hesitate...

"Let's go in." Zachary was still holding Naura's hand. He had it gently and hoped that his hand would not leave pain in the burn marks suffered by Naura.

Naura swallowed her saliva. She finally nodded and resumed her steps to enter the manor.

Right now, her chest was beating fast. Before this, Zachary had treated her very gently, but there was still a concern when Naura first set foot into an unfamiliar place. Zachary even took her straight to her room.

Fear

Zachary looked at Naura. He let go of her hand. "Lie down."

Naura hesitated. Zachary, was he a strange man? He was covered in bandages that made him look ugly.

"Lie down, Naura. I'll treat you." The heavy voice sounded again but was warm and soft in Naura's ears.

"Treat?" she repeated the sentence said by Zachary. Her hearing might need to be improved. But Zachary nodded, and Naura obeyed with a feeling still so strange.

Zachary slowly reached out and was about to remove the mask on Naura's face.

Naura immediately restrained Zachary's hand. "Don't!" Naura shook her head. She became very panicked.

Does Zachary not know the burns Naura suffered reached ninety-eight per cent? The burns only left Naura's two eyes still functioning correctly. She was sure Zachary would be disgusted as soon as he saw her face. Even if they did a bed scene with both eyes closed, it wouldn't satisfy him.

Zachary smiled gently without withdrawing his hand that had touched Naura's mask. "Relax, I will treat your wound." Zachary assured Naura.

Naura still held Zachary's hand. She wouldn't let Zachary face her or all her burns. It was so terrible it would make her sick in an instant.

Zachary looked down while exhaling so slowly from his mouth. He understood Naura's attitude. She had experienced a lot of ridicule, even from her own family. "Everything will be fine."

This time, Naura let go of his hand, but she immediately closed her eyes and looked away from Zachary. Her heart beat faster when Zachary pulled his mask back slowly. Zachary still looks calm in Naura's sad state. He did not show a surprised expression, and slowly, he opened the bandages all over Naura's body. The wounds that she had wrapped with bandages for ten years every day had to be seen by a strange man she had just met.

Zachary saw the burns from saving her. He continued to remove the bandages slowly and very carefully. Finally, Zachary really saw the severe burns suffered by Naura. Zachary held his breath for a moment. Zachary watched every wound on Naura's body with a careful gaze. This made Zachary very sad. He remembered Naura's sacrifice, who jumped into the high flames to save him. And now, she had to live ten years with terrible burns. Zachary could hardly hold back his tears. The stern face he used to show now changed very drastically. He became very emotional when he saw Naura.

This scene deeply touched Zachary's heart. He felt increasingly guilty for Naura until he was determined to bring Naura back to normal. "I will heal all the wounds on your body."

A promise was uttered from Zachary's lips. But Naura ignored it because she felt it was impossible. She still closed her eyes and didn't dare to look at Zachary's face, which embarrassed her.

The pull of the bandages on her body made Naura close her eyes even more. After this, she was very sure that Zachary would feel disgusted after seeing all the wounds on Naura's body. That guess was wrong. Suddenly, Zachary hugged Naura tightly. "I promise to love you forever." After a few moments of hugging Naura, Naura's eyes were teary because of that. Zachary immediately stood up and took a medicine that had been prepared.

Zachary immediately applied the medicine very carefully all over Naura's body. He wanted to return the favour for what Naura had done to him. Zachary continued smearing the wound with a special potion, and then Zachary wrapped Naura's body again using a bandage.

"After half a month, all your wounds will heal." Zachary assured Naura while looking at her.

Naura slowly opened her eyes. The soft sentence that was so convincing gave her a little hope. "Y-yes..."

Although that sentence she often heard ten years ago when she was undergoing treatment. But the doctor finally threw up his hands with the injuries suffered by Naura.

"Just sleep, I know you're exhausted." Zachary spoke. He gave a gentle rub on Naura's hand. Although Zachary's strokes were behind the bandages, Naura could feel genuine warmth.

This man was different from everyone responding to her. Even her family didn't treat her as well as Zachary.

Naura couldn't help but smile. "Thank you." Naura spoke softly. Although she was very unsure of what Zachary said.

Every day, Naura did the treatment routine, repeating what Zachary had done before. Zachary would apply the medicine before Naura would sleep. Even Zachary always had a warm conversation with Naura before she got her deep sleep. Over the past ten years, Naura never got that warmth back, but in the few days she stayed together with Zachary, she again felt the meaning of being loved.

Fifteen days, exactly when Zachary promised healing for Naura. And Naura no longer doubts it. Every day, Naura feels a different effect on her body. She was comfortable living with Zachary, who treated her like a human.

Zachary was helping Naura remove all her bandages in front of the mirror. Naura's chest was beating rapidly. For the past ten years, she had decided to make enemies with Cemin. She hated looking at his disgusting face. And now, Naura ventured to reconcile with the mirror and see the results of Zachary's treatment.

Zachary finally managed to remove all the bandages that wrapped Naura's body. And slowly, Zachary directed Naura's chin to look at the mirror before him. "You look wonderful." Zachary gave a compliment that made Naura dare to look in the same mirror.

Naura looked at her body in front of the mirror. She gently rubbed her face, which was no longer wrapped in bandages. "Zachary, I'm completely healed. All my wounds have disappeared. And ... " Naura stopped her sentence, she rubbed her face and all the skin on her body. Naura turned her body around, looking at Zachary, who stood behind her with a smile. "Zachary, you have successfully restored my original skin."

Before Zachary could say anything, he felt his cell phone ringing in his pants pocket. Zachary quickly reached into his pocket and picked up the phone. He again saw the name 'Hermes' on his phone screen.

"I'll be right back." Zachary said goodbye and left the room. Naura nodded. At this time, she looked back at her face in the mirror.

Nodding.

Zachary answered the call quite far from the room. He wanted Naura to refrain from hearing his conversation with Hermes.

Zachary answered the call. He had just placed his cell phone next to his ear. Hermes' voice was immediately heard. "General, I have received news about the four families in Eklinas. And they are the ones who gave the Houghton family the attack ten years ago."

Zachary's gaze became colder. He squeezed his cell phone after hearing the news from his servant.

"General, I also heard that one of them, Sir Peter, will be holding a seventieth birthday party." Hermes again gave the information he had gotten over the few days he had searched for valid data.

Zachary's eyes sharpened again. In all the time he had lived with Naura, he had never shown such a terrifying look in his eyes. Then he spoke, "Buy a gift for her a bell. And it will be a very good gift for the old man." Zachary's voice sounded firm. And in the background, Hermes nodded his head. The call was disconnected.

Meanwhile, in the room, Naura had yet to have time to give a thank you to Zachary. The woman immediately left the mirror and walked to catch up with Zachary.

Naura walked over. She immediately held Zachary's hand and spoke, "Zachary thank you for healing me."

"I have promised, Naura." Zachary returned Naura's hand touch.

Naura was happy trusting Zachary when she could see the proof like this.

The happy Naura just remembered about her family. "Zachary, I think we should immediately return home to the Harvey family villa. Tomorrow is our wedding day. And I also want to tell the entire Harvey family, if I have recovered."

Naura looked very excited. Even though she regained her cheerfulness after ten years, it disappeared.
