Chapter 41
She quickly removed her shirt and wrapped it around his neck, preventing his blood from staining her lovely front porch. She was a neat freak who was obsessed with details like stains, particularly blood. She was very familiar with blood. She was once regarded as an expert in that field. Always being especially careful not to spill any blood on the floor so that she wouldn't have to clean it up later. It always made the job easier. She locked her gaze on him, turning his head as he choked on his own blood. Her gaze was drawn to the locations of his large blood vessels. She was double-checking that she had severed the carotid arteries and external jugular veins. Because the carotid was a high-pressure vessel that supplied blood to the brain, there was a rapid loss of blood flow to the brain. She had completely severed it, allowing her to kill him quickly and with less pain. She knew he did not deserve her mercy, but she did not have time for a painful, slow death. Time could not allow

Chapter 42
Kentucky still held the wooden prank in his hands as he stood over Alabama's body. He was a little shaky as the realization of what he had done hit him. When he saw the old man with the game phone, he had panicked. He needed to get rid of the competition because he wanted to be the first one to Texa's house. He knelt over the elderly man and checked his breathing. He had struck him hard, and blood was streaming from the sides of his ears. The man was breathing, much to his relief. He sighed in relief as he dragged him away from the grass path and into the tall grass. He then took the leaves and piled them on top of the old man. He needed to move fast. He knew other players were not far away from where he was, so he raced down to the house. The game had turned into who was the fastest. That was what most players were after, but they had no idea one of them had been brutally killed while a fellow player had just assaulted another fellow player. The pledgers, Acer, and organizers wat

Chapter 43
With a rolling eyes emoji, Acer quickly forwarded her findings to the top boss. Throughout the game, she had repeatedly warned him about Texas, and now he was reaping the benefits of his arrogance. She sent him another message, this time asking him to activate her chip. They needed to get rid of her as soon as possible. It was easier to justify her abrupt exit from the game than it was to watch her take over the show. She was confident that the majority of the pledgers would understand, and only a few members of her team would object, but the organization had been kind enough to keep her alive even though she wasn't playing the game. So she intended to use it against them. Her boss looked at the messages, puzzled. He'd been pressing Texas' chip activator unconsciously for an hour. He had recognized what she was carrying the moment she walked out of the trap door. He didn't need to look into it; he had one similar to hers, though he only used it when he was on vacation and haunting. He

"But sir...""Shut up and stop interfering with my game. Simply put, whoever gets to kill her wins the game," he cut her off.Acer took a deep breath and paused for a second before asking her next question."Is this a part of the game? Is Texas hired and part of the organization?" she inquired, trying not to offend him. A lot of things about the woman were not adding up."No, she is not," he replied, to her disappointment. She expected him to say more, but his simple response was all she got. She understood if there were elements of the game that she was not supposed to know but a heads up would have calmed everyone down."I do not understand," she shrugged."There is nothing to understand. Texas is the unpredictable part of the game that we can utilize," he replied, further annoying her."Sir, this is dangerous; kill her now!""Remember your place, Acer, and don't order me around! Have faith in the players; they've been surprising us since game one and will continue to do so. One of

Chapter 45
The five players took off running as if their lives depended on it. They caught sight of each other as they ran. They couldn't see each other earlier due to the obvious tall grass and their sneaking-in tactic. There was no time for introductions or getting riled up when there was a crazy maniac at the house firing a gun like a lunatic.Their gut instinct told them to escape. They had no idea where they were going, but all they cared about was getting as far away as they could away from the house. It became apparent to them, that the woman was the one holding the gun.Michigan was literally in a panic and wasn't noticing where she was running to. She kept running deeper and deeper into the piercing and ripping grass. She began regretting wearing a sleeveless shirt, but she had no choice because it was extremely hot in Texas. She was about to join a small footpath when her leg collided with something and she fell with a bang, landing on her head first losing consciousness. Washington a

Chapter 46
Silence stretched with Acer, waiting for a hung up or a reprimand that never came. Her boss was still on the phone. She could hear him breathing heavily as if he were in the same room as her. He was furious, his hands clenched into fists. He wanted to hear her out for unknown reasons. As much as he despised admitting it, he needed to hear his team out. He was already on the block, and brainstorming was required to solve Texas's problem. His team did not need to know all of the details, but he was open to new ideas.Acer held her breath as she waited. She'd never met her boss before and had no idea what he looked like, his age, or his race. From the way he spoke or addressed people, she concluded he was an arrogant, wealthy jerk full of himself. He was most likely born with a silver spoon in his mouth. She had a sneaking suspicion he was in his twenties or thirties based on his posture every time he popped up to address the team or pledgers. Another clue to his age was the Manchester C

Chapter 47
While the organization was trying to figure out how to get to her safe room without being detected by the thermal cameras, Texas was cleaning up the blood that had splattered all over the floor despite her efforts to cover it in plastic. Her kills were too unpredictable, resulting in her kills being too messy. All her efforts with the plastic went in vain. She'd just put the two more bodies in her pantry, making a total of three men: Maine, Arkansas, and Kentucky. She was out of room to store the bodies. She needed to figure out how to dispose of them. She doubted the organization would gladly relieve her of the burden. The bodies being in her house was her weakness that they could capitalize on if they were not obsessed with the useless games. Then again, she couldn't risk leaving them outside to scare away the other players. She killed them unless the organization had done it. Anyone discovering the bodies other than her fellow players would mean a murder case for her.Even though s

Chapter 48
While the pledgers were debating who was forming alliances with whom, the Commando arrived in Texas. Everything was ready and waiting for him. The team he found walked him through on the space blanket and how to use it. He had a small window of opportunity to go in, insert a new chip in Texas, and stake out the safe room before anyone noticed.Acer was very excited about the mission. She couldn't wait to see Texas's expression when she realized she wasn't so untouchable. She sat down and waited. The organizers had already taken advantage of the alliances that the pledgers seemed to be focused on and froze the cameras on Texas' farm to some hours behind while the leader, organisers and Acer watched the live feeds. Texas was still in her safe room, her thermal monitor on her lap as she ate lunch with her daughter. She was unaware of the danger that was heading her way. The commando was quickly taken to a farm near Texas' property. He had to walk the remaining meters to avoid suspicion

Acer was running mad. She kept pacing the room while attempting to get hold of her boss. Everything was not going to plan and the boss was not making things easy for them. She had tried to talk to the organizers but they were too blindfolded and had no idea what was going on.She felt the leader had crossed the line even though he had the authority to do whatever he wanted, but it was insulting to the staff to cut them off during crucial moments or disastrous moments that were hindering the progress of the game. Soon the pledgers were going to find out the feeds were tempered with. It was only a matter of time. Her phone rang, and it was the organizers giving her an update."We just spoke to him.""And what? What do you mean?" she urged anxiously."He cut us off because he was doing some clean-up," the man explained. Acer was perplexed. Her mistrust of her boss's collaboration with Texas grew stronger. Something wasn't quite right. She was surprised that the organizers had missed it

She acted quickly and focused her attention on Washington and Louisiana, both of which appeared to be wasting time. They'd been looking for a gun for an hour. They had spent a significant amount of time moving around the ghostly town. They were hampered by the locals. The majority of them were conservatives who disliked mixing with outsiders. And them looking for a gun just made things worse.Acer made the decision to make things simple for them. She was defying her boss, who had warned her about interfering in the game earlier, but she didn't care. She planned to do the same thing he was doing. Each with their own way of cleaning up the mess. She contacted her contact in Texas and made some demands off the books. It was time someone did something about the unfairness of the games. She reverted her gaze to the monitors and noticed that the Texas live feeds were back on. She moved from one room to the next and realized there was no sign of the commando. All of the rooms were empty; it
