Side Stories 1. The Awakening
Sixty three years ago… I can’t see. What’s going on? Am I dead? No, I don’t think so, that’s good at least… I can’t open my eyes. What’s up with that? I can’t feel my arms… How about my legs…? No, nothing. Something feels coarse around my body. Wait, I feel something? That’s good. I’m definitely alive. Where am I? …Who… am I? I can’t seem to remember. I don’t think now is the time to worry about that. I have to figure of what to do, why I can’t move and where I am. With the coarse texture of what has enveloped around me, which could probably be what’s keeping me pinned. I think I’m buried under something, sand. How long have I been under here? And why am I not dead, let alone not suffocating? Okay how is this happening? That’s good—Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining or anything but… Is this even possible? That’s the least of my problems now. Since I am alive it stands to reason that I must find a way out of this grave… but how, if I can’t even move my anything? I’ll

Side Stories 2. A Century And Half Old Hunger
There’s nothing here! Not a single structure in sight. Where do I go? Where do I start? I’m I the only here? First, my body, I have to find a way to gain control of it. I can’t do much if I can’t move… What do I do now? I’m I going to stand here forever? Ugh… What the hell? I fall to my knees, grabbing tightly to my stomach—black long locks of hair fall within my sights. What’s this feeling? I feel empty! Like my insides are being torn to shreds… Is this hunger? If it is then I’m so so hungry. I could eat almost anything. Where do I get food to eat? There’s not a sign of anything. What’s this? I wasn’t paying attention at first, but why does my hand have these markings and why do I look so pale and most importantly why do I look so scrawny? For some reason it’s not something that’s bothers me. But that does give me a clue to how long I was stuck in my grave—not the specific time but long enough. Suddenly, in a jerk I stand. I begin to move in the opposite direction of the sun—

Book 2- Prologue 1 GHOST IN THE RUIN
The horizon was lit with a bright orange-pink glow as the sun was about rising ushering in the beginning of a new day in the desert town. This should have been the time that desert town was already bustling, yet for some reason it was silent, empty. The feeling was like that of a ghost town. Not even a single soul was up about their usual morning routines. At a glance it felt like the place had just been abandoned, although it didn’t exactly feel like a ghost town, there was a certain calm to it. A calm that wasn’t there before, only unavoidable tension. As the morning became brighter and the sun rose higher in the sky the state of the ruin remained unchanged. It felt even more void of life. Just like that the sun went down and night came, cold as usual. The stone lamps which were hanged the previous night, had been left on throughout the day had made their glow now faint and gave an appearance contrasting to the feeling which should be. The place looked eerie but it was still calm

Prologue 2 THE LONG YEARNED FOR ADVENTURE BEGINS
The sun rose on the east waking up the desert town. Unlike the day before, the town was bustling. There were genuine smiles on everyones faces that it was almost unsettling. Though they weren’t sure exactly what brought the calm they could only hold on to it even if they thought it would be short-lived. But there was a fast spreading rumor that it was possible to leave the ruin and that a larger majority of the hunters had already done so after they managed to stop whatever caused it after so long. Of course the last bit may have been slightly true, Nate was a hunter of some sorts. It was a cover set up by Lreen to cover up the truth about their deaths and not incite more panic than that which still lingered in them. The weight they felt over them had been lifted. “It’s been so long since I smelled the outside.” Alayne, the old troll who was the owner of TRe BoC Alayne, said as he slowly strolled down the happy street. Allora joined him returning from a thorough search of the rui

Chapter 1 NAMING THE LITTLE ONE - Part 1
It’s been five days since I left the ruin—being in that place really scrambled up my thoughts, I hardly knew what was going on, felt I was being suppressed in some way thinking about consequences at every turn—and Iya followed. Yes Iya! The name came to me a few days back though I haven’t given it to her. As much as I hate to, not wanting her to get to attached to me I can’t have calling her little one every time. After all Allora said she was nameless. Why bother naming her? Perhaps it was a sense of responsibility for having hurt her? … I doubt it. I have no idea where—direction-wise—I’m heading but back there this was the last thing I had asked Lreen before going at Kein. Where the bounty I had gotten from Taro was issued and about ‘port town, Erndt’. I was clueless about the directions he gave but from his gestures I got the general location of the place. He said the bounty was issued somewhere up north, a kingdom, Avd’elisi. My assumption was right. A kingdom? Honestly can’t

Chapter 1 NAMING THE LITTLE ONE - Part 2
I guess breaking it should be one of my priorities if I want to get inside and dig for my past. This raises a question. Are my memories truly lost or lock? If they are locked it’s one thing, but if it’s lost it’s another and each would have a different approach. But, locked as a result of event or something else? I get the feeling that it’s not that simple… maybe both, some locked and the rest stolen. Either way the key to remembering is to finding the one who did this and regaining my soul. “I can probably guess what you’re thinking, but I doubt anyone can do it. Not with the current state of this world and magic. They’d have to have power beyond that of yours before they could even put some work in.” Then that is a gamble I can take. Someone even more powerful to break the lock. I might just find one on my journey. “Why serious on going in there? Stay out of my mind.” “Aren’t you curious about it all?” I see a flash of him; he had a eyes mischievous expression: narrowed eyes wit

Chapter 1 NAMING THE LITTLE ONE - Part 3
And just like that he left. She let out a sigh. “What a strange boy.” The air around him was mystifying as it was ferocious. His eyes without life, his expression lacking in emotion. He was blank. His presence was both terrifying as it was soothing. For someone at his age to have such impressive atmosphere around him, he must be really something. She thought. “But what do I tell this little one?” Born into this world only to know hardship. It changes everyone… but for a child to have such a calm demeanor even though knowing the harshness of the world is truly amazing. These two really are something. She continued in thought. But she couldn’t help but wonder what pain the little girl had gone through to be able to cope with her current predicaments and the ones that were yet to come. She knew, for everyone: that the world has taken something from them. “How would she react learning of his departure?” She was a child and in due time she would forget, she’s still a child after all

Chapter 2 INTO THE SEA, LAMOA - Part 1
“You really think this journey would be worth it?” The sun was slowly sinking into the western horizon. It’s been three days since this duo, the half Orc-elf girl and the Lamia who was in her human form, Lira and Allora left the ruins and so far they had seen nothing but remnants of the old world, sticking out from their graves. Some things they were unfamiliar with and some just vague familiarity as they’ve heard rumors of them from the hunters that came into the ruins, the home they left. All that while the enthusiasm, the gleam from her eyes did not waver. Everything she saw was most likely a distraction and if not for Lira’s presence drawing her attention back to reality she would have been lost in the ‘wonders’ of such ‘junk’. This made Lira wonder the same. “What do you thing that was?” Allora asked when she saw an old rusty oil pump that had stopped working long ago. “I wonder what this was used for back then?” A question when she saw what seemed to be a cell tower. It’s w

Chapter 2 INTO THE SEA, LAMOA - Part 2
He titled his head a little and his expression softened, yet the expression he wore; the gently smile that almost looked caring and his soft gaze made him look even more sinister. “N—” Before he could say a word a hand had grabbed his neck from behind. The power in the grip prevented any word from escaping and lifted him off the floor. In his line of sight one of his persecutors was missing, the werehyena. Allora’s eyes shot open. The gnome struggled as he tried to free the grip around his neck. Slowly suffocating. Allora couldn’t take her eyes off the scene unfolding before her… She blinked… “What’s going on?” A sense of forebode came over her. What’s going on? “How am I supposed to know?” Came the reply. Are they really going to kill him? “We can’t just sit here and do nothing?” Suddenly she voiced out. Lira quickly grabbed her before she could make a move. ”Are you crazy! That is just what we are going to do.” She panicked, her breath becoming haggard. “Why!? Should I s

Chapter 2 INTO THE SEA, LAMOA - Part 3
… I was right! I don’t want to conclude but it really is her, who kept me tied to this place, because now I was able to move without any hindrance, that feeling of being anchored here… but also I can’t really say it was her—a part of me feels so, not wanting to accept that fact that she is the one that held me to that place. Which would mean I have gotten attached. Have I? It doesn’t feel so… There wasn’t anyone around that place who has prejudice against me. I would have smelled it… well not if they are good at hiding it. If she is the one though, I’d find out soon enough, look into to it and then deal with it accordingly because she is definitely something that stands in my way… Killing her now would definitely not be advisable. There may be more to this little one, Iya… But now I have a pressing matter before me. Though my perception at night is good, dealing with a thing like this really puts me in a spot. It’s night time… Some time has passed since we left the metal grave
