Author Introduction

Not much is known regarding Third Blossom's true identity or origin, nor can we find other works under their name. Nevertheless, judging from "Beyond the Divorce," they seem to have a knack for concocting compelling and passion-filled romantic novels with an emphasis on female empowerment.

Characters

Chloe

We don't learn about Chloe's name until past the fourth chapter of the novel, but she's ultimately the main focus of the story. From the onset, she was a very talented lady who had a bright career ahead of her, though her heart was willing to make some costly sacrifices so that she could raise a healthy family with the man she loved.

Throughout the first part of the novel, she seems devoted to pleasing his husband to the point where she essentially relinquishes any ounce of self-esteem she may have had before the engagement.

Matthew

Matthew is the "male lead" in the novel (for lack of a more fitting term), known for his stunningly good looks, as well as his overly selfish demeanor. Contrary to Chloe, Matthew was more of a commoner with an austere net worth.

Superficially, he tries to appear loving and caring, but he's ultimately a victim of his own hedonistic desires, which affect not only Chloe but his own mother, Grace, who still thinks highly of him in spite of the fact he didn't lift so much as a finger for her.

Nevertheless, throughout the novel, he seems to show some signs of genuine regret over his actions, though Chloe remains unconvinced of this supposed change of heart.

Plot

The plot in "Beyond the Divorce" basically revolves around Chloe's failed marriage adventure with Matthew. During the first chapter, we see Chloe browsing TikTok and happening upon a man's livestream.

At this point, it had been established in her mind that her husband was on a business trip in Canta, but the man on the livestream looked eerily similar to her "loving" husband and had a female companion with him. After talking with him over the phone, her mind remained relatively at ease, though there was still a lingering suspicion.

Later, she found out that he had actually been unfaithful to her, a fact that filled her with grief and even rage. She had renounced a successful career, handing the management of her business over to him so that she could devote her time to raising their kids. To make matters even worse, the woman whom he was cheating with was his own sister, Melanie (of all people), who had additionally benefitted from Chloe's amassed wealth for a very long time.

Nonetheless, Chloe remained composed, even when her stomach was secretly churning. She was tempted to ruin Matthew's reputation by disclosing his incestuous relationship but she soon figured that, by doing so, she would have a much harder time reclaiming what's hers. Notwithstanding, her revenge plan was well underway.

Chapter 12

Chloe became enraged when the receptionist at the Galar Tower addressed the person behind her as Mrs. Murphy. To her surprise, that person was Melanie, flaunting a very classy attire while Chloe was in her home clothes. Chloe's eyes were seething with ire while Melanie looked shocked by Chloe's unexpected appearance.

Chapter 528

There was a very tense scene with Carina threatening Mia after the former was caught sneaking into the event hosted by Arthur, attacking Chloe in the process. She behaved thus, thinking Mia may be related to Chloe, but Mia was rather unfazed by this poor attempt on Carina's part to restore her wounded pride.

Final Thoughts

"Beyond the Divorce" offers a very compelling story with a lot of nuance when it comes to character development.

Speaking of characters, even when some do appear to be clearly and unequivocally aligned, you also find others, such as Matthew, who hold seemingly contradictory values. In that sense, Matthew represents your regular "everyday person," as in, someone with a nearly equal amount of shining spots and blemishes. This may also be said of Chloe as well, albeit to a much lesser degree.

Then, on the narrative side of things, the pacing is moderately good considering the number of chapters they've already added. In addition, while readers are presented with a wide variety of situations and characters, the plot doesn't totally lose its focus, a highly cherished virtue in web novels (or novels, in general).

Lastly, the story is told from the perspective of the female lead and never shifts to other characters. This guarantees a very cohesive and uniform presentation, with the small caveat that readers never get to learn about the events from alternative viewpoints (though to be fair, few novels take full advantage of this narrative technique, to begin with).

In a nutshell, "Beyond the Divorce" is a fantastic Billionaire novel you should definitely keep track of, especially if you're into female-empowering works!
