His First Visitation

He was so good at hiding his fear and quickly dashed off before they could realize anything. The two young men watched Sean's retreating back in utter amazement. They wondered where the young man had gotten the boldness from. Was it as a result of the new position in the conglomerate?

Brandon scoffed and adjusted his legs. He chose to remain quiet during the comeback of his elder brother with the man because he didn't see any need to interfere in their discussion. And again, exchanging words with the masquerader might be reduce his standards.

“We just have to retaliate quietly and deal with the fool in an unexpected way. Yelling at him won't lead to anything. These kinds of people deserve to be taken unaware.” Brandon urged his brother.

His words seemed appealing to Garrett's ears. Judging by his encounter with Sean a few minutes ago, it was obvious that he was a very stiff-necked man who would expect things in his direction. Even things that aren't met for him.

“I agree with you, Brandon. The Chairwoman must not know of our plots against him. He took what was ours and so then needs to be punished severely.” Garrett laughed ferociously.

At Sean's end, a minute after he left the two brothers in the passage, he bumped into Steve who had been moving around searching for him. It was time for them to visit a particular wealthy family when he couldn't meet Sean in the hall. He had to walk round in circles until he caught sight of Sean taking the flight of stairs at the side of the building.

“Sean! I have looked round for you! Where have you been? Quick, the Chairwoman is in the car.” Steve grabbed his hands and rushed towards the occupied car park.

Within two minutes, they reached the place, and Steve gently pushed Sean into the car. Although it was a gentle push, Sean had his brown hair tangled with the car. Steve then had to carefully remove it before Sean could hop inside. Seated just beside him was the stony-faced Chairwoman who continuously tapped her feet impatiently. She didn't seem to be pleased at all.

Suddenly she swung to Sean and commanded, “If anybody asks about your past, do not say anything, but just walk away or do something else. Don't tell them anything that pertains your life. The more silent you are, the earlier they get tired of their queries. I am saying this because I have the conviction that it might begin anytime soon.” The Chairwoman pressed her lips against each other. She was anxious.

She had been in that position ever since one of her arch enemies showed up at the party and promised to unveil Sean's identity and the hidden secrets of the Arnault family. These were her greatest fears. If people knew about Sean's life as a waiter before being honored as the head of a conglomerate, she might be forced to reinstate one of her grandsons even if she chose to claim Sean as of theirs.

And none of her grandsons were fit for the job judging by their wasted and unyielding life. They were wealthy, yet they brought nothing tangible into the country. Instead, they lavished their money on girls, whores, clubhouses and expensive dresses as if that was the main purpose of life. If she eventually picked them at any day, that would be the end of the conglomerate which was her toil.

“Why? I think they will find out soon, Chairwoman . The media are always unrelenting. Give them a few days, and it will be all over the internet.” Steve, who was driving the car, asked when he noticed the Chairwoman’s uneasiness.

“That is the reason I have instructed Zoe to do her job. This is the perfect way to put his job into use. He should disregard every news about the new head of Globalsphere conglomerate as quickly as possible.” The Chairwoman breathed out heavily and swiped her head with a white handkerchief.

Zoe was a man in control of any news meant to destroy the reputation of any member of the Arnault family. He had performed excellently well for the past eight years, so the Chairwoman had her full trust in him. If it weren't for the man, the Globalsphere conglomerate would have been in it's trenches at that time.

The black SUV screeched and pulled to a halt at a magnificent building a few minutes later. This building had no gate or visible protection whatsoever, yet it was an unaccessible area for armed robbers because it was heavily guarded by unseen soldiers lurking around.

The Chairwoman was the first person to alight, followed by Steve and lastly Sean himself. The atmosphere was so calm that Sean wondered why they went there.

“Where is this place, Steve?” Sean asked the man next to him, but the Chairwoman chipped in instead.

“This residence belongs to Patrick Parkersburg. He is quite a famous figure in Seattle. We have an appointment with them.” The Chairwoman explained without taking a break. Sean nodded his head even though she never gave a thorough and broad explanation of why they had gone for visitation.

When the Chairwoman reached the gigantic door, she clicked on the doorbell, and it opened automatically without the assistance of anybody, which bemused the rest of them. The Chairwoman then summoned both of them to walk closer. Just as the Chairwoman walked in, the entire family of Parkersburg rushed down the stairs delighted to see Ms Elizabeth.

Two young boys who seemed like twins engulfed the older woman in a warm embrace, feeling excitement. Every one of them gleamed in ecstasy at their appearances.

Sean looked above them and sighted a very beautiful lady standing at the beginning of the stairs. To add to her beauty, she wore a stainless white dress that complemented was with her glowing skin and shiny dark hair.

Her eyes moved across the room as she bit her lips continuously feeling very anxious. Her parents had informed that the Chairwoman would be appearing with the new head of Globalsphere conglomerate.

Based on the quick research she did a few minutes before his appearance, she realized that he was a very attractive young man with an innocent appearance which made her fall in love with him at first sight.
