Portal fever

Ansel's breathing was loud in his ears. Then, he heard the creak of the floorboards and the soft thud of footsteps, getting closer.

His eyelids fluttered, struggling to stay open. He tried to lift a finger, but his arm felt like lead, refusing to budge. Ansel's gaze fell on the blurry figures approaching him, their faces indistinct.

'Don't fight it' He thought to himself, allowing the strange calmness take control over him.

"Give them some time to recover. It has been a wild journey"

The voice echoed in his ears, a voice which he recognized to be Vinny's.

Ansel grunted, despising his helplessness on the cold ground. Summoning every last ounce of strength, he tried to move, to push himself up, but his body still felt like lead.

With a surge of determination, Ansel slowly raised himself up once more, planting one knee firmly on the ground and using it as a support to steady his weakened body as he struggled to his feet.
