Wasted Effort

Tony turned around immediately, but it wasn’t who he was expecting. It was Katerina, carrying two bags of groceries as she approached the front door. He should have known, despite all the shouting and yelling, no one came out of the house. She wasn’t home.

“What’s going on?” Katerina was muddled.

“I was just about to leave,” Tony turned around and started walking towards Katerina. He had made a very big error but Lilian was going to find out one day anyway, this just wasn’t how he wished she found out.
