Chapter 3

Axel finally picked himself up from the floor as his stomach flipped and he hung his head low in the presence of people passing by.

"That lucky bastard!" He mumbled inwardly, rolling his eyes, shuddering his shoulders and clenching his jaws as he waggled out of their premises back home.

Axel was already fed up with the rancid words that were said against him so far for that day, especially by the hardy Boyz.

His frowny face squished further into the ground as he waltzed to take a taxi back home.

While he was being driven back home, in his state of sobriety, myriads of sadistic thoughts flushed his mind as he massaged his temples.

"Was I beguiled all this while? Thinking that I was in a relationship, whereas Ryan had been using me all this while?" He mumbled inwardly as tears pricked against his eyes.

He was completely whacked off his mind and a chill of dread seeped into his bones because he was fed up with what he had gone through so far and finally a slay tear slithered down, tracking his skin.

He finally mulled over how he was going to take care of his grungy and scruffy home since his mother Oaklynn Dankworth wasn't present in it at the moment.

She has been ill with diabetes for some weeks now and it's been serious.

Keeping the house neat would make her pleased in the hospital.

He pondered how he lost his Dad, Henley Dankworth who died in his sleep.

He knew deep down, it was because his Dad was always the worrisome type and it killed him.

Axel jerked out of his reverie after he had gotten to his premises because the taxi driver alerted him.

"Thanks," He alighted the taxi cab and feigned an amicable smile before he got out.

He examined himself and felt he was looking more svelte than usual because of his current situation.

He was startled at the sight of a tall handsome smiley-looking man dressed in an Italian suit with a brooch at the breast side.

He flinched backwards as several thoughts of him being impugned vigorously probably by Hayden sending someone as a last resort rushed through his mind.

He observed that he wasn't alone as men also dressed in black suits were with him.

"Fret not, young master. I mean you no harm. My name is Birch Sallow and I work for Madam Ottiline Bonneville," He struck his chin in a stern expression as he spoke.

Axel's jaw dropped. He knew that Ottiline was the mother of the richest Entrepreneur in the world, Mateo Bonneville, who was late.

"You have to come with me because Madam wants to see you and It's urgent," Birch explained succinctly.

Axel knew he couldn't quibble over the details because he was privileged and agreed swiftly.

"Alright, let's go," Axel eye's popped open when he gazed at the elegant black limousine that they both waggled towards.

He was let in and he was completely mesmerized by why he was being treated in this way.

It wasn't long before they got to the large elegant flashy mansion of the Bonneville's.

Although he had seen the mansion in pictures and dreamt of going there, he never knew it would come to reality this soon and he gritted his teeth in astonishment.

Plethora of thoughts bubbled tempestuously in his heart and he pondered why he was chosen out of the many to visit the Bonneville's mansion.

He snapped out of his reverie when the door was opened for him and he alighted from the limousine.

Damp sweat trickled down his skin till it landed on his jaws because he knew he was still gasping for air because of all that he had gone through that day.

His eyes bobbed shut at the sight of the exterior of the flashy mansion and he overheard the sound of music shrilled as ice playing softly in the background.

Even though there wasn't any presence of repugnance, his lips still quivered because he had no idea what he would utter when he stood finally before Madam Ottiline.

He gazed at the workers performing their duties and all of them halted succinctly to perform a curt bow to him when they gazed at him which made him flustered.

His mouth was set to a grim line when he got in the lounge room and the thrumming in his chest became louder to himself.

Madam Ottiline's voice boomed across the room as she drove herself on the machine wheelchair towards the lounge room escorted by her bodyguards in suits.

"Welcome grandson!" She blurted out in euphoria with her succinct words dancing delicately across the threshold of mystery to Axel.

He gazed at her and observed she was average-sized, plumpy and very beautiful in her old age.

"Excuse me! Why did you say such? I don't understand," Axel gurgled groggily. He had been through a lot that day to be pulled off his strings.

"Yes, that's who you are, a Bonneville. You aren't who you think you are," She winked.

"No way! I am a Dankworth. I lost my father and my mother is sick and bedridden at the hospital that's why I'm an orphan. So, I don't understand what you are trying to say," Axel stuttered as emotions churned up in his chest.

"Yes, way!" Ottiline chuckled and her face beamed in smiles as she glanced at Axel.

"I can show you proof if you want," Ottiline's lips twitched upward with a stern expression.

Axel nodded his head and his collarbone tilted.

"Alright," Ottiline retorted signalling to Birch who waltzed towards her holding a biometric detection box.

Axel's eyes popped up when he gazed at it. He knew what it was and his heart thundered because he knew where Madam Ottiline was going.

"It was a very long time ago and you were the child of Mateo and Brigitta Bonneville, but unfortunately, their enemies killed them and somehow you were saved because you were hidden and lost, so I guess your late foster parents picked you up and raised you," Ottiline let out a low puff as she let the cat out the bag.

Axel felt giddy and almost slumped as he felt his whole life flashed before his eyes.

He had been lied to all these years. He knew that he couldn't disturb Oaklynn, his foster mom about it because of her current condition and neither could he tell her about the fact that he was expelled, but this aspect about his real parents was a must.

"So in this box contains a diamond card which is meant for the heir and if your biometrics opens it then it confirms it all," Ottiline clicked a button to prepare the biometrics box.

Axel cowered back in fear feeling reluctant to do what she wanted.

"Come on, it's the way to know the truth. I'm not blaming your foster parents since they saved you and I'm so grateful for that, but you need to know your real family," Ottiline retorted with an amicable smile.

"Alright," Axel agreed as he moved an inch to place his thumb on the thumbprint and it worked.

It opened and he almost flinched backwards again.

"Come on, check what's in and pick it up," Ottiline encouraged.

Axel summoned courage and glanced at an elegant-looking diamond card in the box and clutched it in his arms as he cupped his cheek with his other arm, flabbergasted about what he had discovered.

"So that's the diamond card, meant for the heir and it's all yours, so as the business of the Bonneville's. Welcome my grandson and our lost heir," Ottiline retorted with an amicable smile as Axel looked dumbfounded standing like a dumb landpost and groping the diamond card in his hands...
