10. Accident

This morning Gavin was still relaxing on the balcony of the room. He looked so handsome even though he was only wearing a white t-shirt combined with cloth shorts. He was sitting on a chair while focusing on the laptop on the mini round table. Occasionally, his forehead wrinkled to show confusion. His hand reached for the glass of black coffee that had begun to cool.

His sharp eyes gazed up at the morning sky. Slowly his lips were drawn upwards to form a knotted smile line. Her eyeballs twinkled as she admired the beauty of the morning sky. However, the gentle gaze and charming smile disappeared instantly, replaced by a cold, hateful stare.

Gavin remembered an hour ago. When he had just woken up, Caesar's secretary had called him. Requesting that Gavin pay a visit to Alexavier's residence. Caesar is currently ill. The man's heart disease had returned and he needed intensive care.

"What a hassle," Gavin muttered as he put on his black suit.

Gavin hurried out of his room. He didn't have much free time this morning. At ten o'clock he had to check on the restaurant and watch the workers.

Two days ago, there were negative comments on the internet stating that the food purchased at Gavin's restaurant was not worth the price. The taste of the food was too bland, and the vegetables were no longer fresh. This made the restaurant a little quiet.

"Where are you going?" Gavin asked Kiana. Her younger sister was already looking neat and pretty. Gavin's sharp eyes watched her intently.

"Are you going on a date?"

Kiana's facial expression was shocked for a few seconds. She gave him a sweet smile while shaking her head. She chuckled softly.

"Just meeting my friends," Kiana replied. She waved goodbye before getting into the online taxi he had ordered.

Gavin's lips tugged upwards. He wasn't that stupid, his sister was actually going on a date with a boy.

"Hope you get a good boyfriend, Kiana."

Gavin took a deep breath. He opened the door slowly. His sharp eyes flashed with hostility when Hazel was there. The woman seemed to care deeply about Caesar.

"Apparently you've come. I thought you didn't remember where you came from," Hazel said. The long-haired woman chuckled when she saw that Gavin was getting better by the day.

"You must be very happy that one of your rivals is out of here. Isn't that so .... Mama?"

Hazel chuckled amusedly. She twiddled her fingers. "Didn't you choose to leave?"

Caesar shook his head at the aura of hostility between the two. This was all his fault. If only he would have been loyal to his first wife even without love. Then none of this would have happened.

"Sit down, Gavin!" Caesar ordered. His eyes glanced at Hazel, then said, "You can come out. I want to have a serious talk with Gavin."

Hazel smiled and nodded obediently. The woman stroked the back of Caesar's hand.

"If there's anything, you can call me," she said before walking away.

"Snake woman!"

Gavin sipped his black coffee. He glanced around the still quiet cafe. The conversation with Caesar had been draining. The old man requested that Park Ha-Neul and Euginia not get in touch with each other. However, that wasn't what infuriated Gavin, Caesar asked Euginia to stay at the Alexavier residence.

"Damn old man!" cursed Gavin as he put the glass away rudely.

Suddenly his cell phone rang. Gavin picked up the call. Gavin's face suddenly turned pale, his breathing felt labored. This bad news seemed to shake Gavin. Karina, had an accident.
