CHAPTER 5

"How on earth would I be the heir to the Louison's? That's too far-fetched and laughable. I mean come on, I am an orphan, how could I be related to the Louison's of all people, please just stop with these lies, and just drop me in the next bus stop so I make my way back." Adrian uttered.

He felt whatever Cecilia was saying was definitely nonsensical, even if he was dreaming how on earth would a lowly person like him turn out to be the heir to the entire fortune of the Louison's? Those people were powerful as well as influential, they surpassed all other companies and influential families in the country and beyond.

They were at the very top of the pedestal when it comes to wealthy people, in fact only one other family was as rich as them in the country.

Adrian McCain who was from a poor background, with no parents and still made his way to the top, didn't even feel worthy enough to even apply for a job in one of their branches because he knew he would be rejected since they were strict people who abide by policies and laws.

Now for this stranger, this person who he had just met today to tell him that he was their heir, not even cousin, or something but the heir to that fortune was funny and unbelievable indeed.

"I am telling you the truth here." Cecilia uttered.

"Look um, Cecilia I know I am just a common man and I know you feel as though I am the one you were looking for, but I believe that you got me mixed up with someone else." Adrian McCain uttered.

"Okay then, let me prove it to you, that you are really the one I was sent to bring home." She retorted.

"By all means, and you most definitely would be disappointed because it's not me." Adrian McCain said surely.

He was very sure that he wasn't the one they were looking for and that was something he didn't want to put his mind on. He had already resigned to fate as being the blood bag to his mother in-law so believing such a thing would most definitely be foolish of him or so he thought.

Cecilia on the other hand, who was very much convinced of her mission and who she was assigned to bring home, made a phone call.

Immediately it rang, it was answered.

"Good day Master." She said

"Cecilia, how is the search going?" A bold voice replied.

"I found him sir, but there is one thing about this, he doesn't believe a word I told him."

"Alright, let's make him believe now shall we?" The voice from the other end said and hung up.

Not long after, the phone on Adrian's pocket rang, he thought it was just a random message, but Ceclia urged him to check it out.

"Why? It's just another random message from who knows where this time." He said.

"Just check it out will you?" Cecilia uttered.

"Fine, let's see what it has to say together so you know, you got the wrong person." McCain said sternly, he was convinced that this new identity they gave him was someone else's, and he wasn't about to add living a fake life or impersonating someone to the list of his misfortunes.

He brought out his phone, clicked on the message he just received but became shocked and surprised at what it entails.

He saw a text saying,

***Cr*** you just received 100 million dollars.

Available balance: 100, 002, 000 million dolars.

He was of course astonished but he still felt it was like a dream, just when he was about refuting the claim his bank called.

"Mr Adrian McCain, congratulations your account was credited with 100 million dollars… thank you for banking with us, we hope to see more transactions from you in the nearest future, your bank manager, Mr FREDERICK LEON." His bank manager said and hung up.

This further proved that this was truly for him, he didn't know how to react, whether to be happy, overwhelmed, sad or whatever emotions he was feeling.

He suddenly kept quiet, and the tears fighting to come out earlier due to the rejections he faced in life, came voluntarily but this time due to the miraculous event that just happened to him.

Ceclia was touched seeing him that way, he didn't know how to comfort him, from what she heard about his boss's son he was very prideful and would never show his tears no matter what.

So seeing him that way touched her heart, only Adrian knows what he was feeling.

Seeing that money in his account was more like a dream, the amount was surprisingly too huge.

If he had this some months back he would have never been looked down on by the family he married into.

His wife wouldn't have taunted him or disrespected him and their marriage bond by flirting with someone else right in front of him with no care about his feelings.

If he had then all of the hardships he has been experiencing in the past will definitely not have been, those looking down at him wouldn't have.

If he could just be given 100 million dollars just as a welcoming gift in just a minute without him working for it or doing anything illegal to get it,that goes to show there is more to the Louison's than he knew and heard.

"Um… Ceclia I am so sorry for not believing you but then it was really hard to believe that a lowly me would be an heir to someone's fortune not to talk more of being the heir to one of the most influential families in the world." He said.

"It's understandable, I would definitely act like it was a scam too if some stranger just walks up to me and says, hey get in the car, and starts bombarding you with lots of information that seems like a fairytale, especially when I feel it couldn't be true. So no hard feelings there, and I am sorry for pushing that much information to you all at once." Cecilia said humbly bowing.

"No don't, don't do that." Adrian McCain said.

"Well you should get used to it though, because everyone else will do that to you soon enough, so please let me do my duties." Cecilia said.

"Hm, thought you said my wish is your command? And I asked you to stop it, okay?" Adrian McCain conveyed.

Cecilia chuckled and said,

"Fine, you sure do have a nice memory."

"I guess so, so do you care to tell me about the kind of family I belong to? I know they are wealthy because of their riches and influence in the country and of course this alert I got in a few minutes. Tell me more about them, can you?" He said.

"Of course, the Louison's as you know are the richest group in the country but the affluence you think they have here is just a little fraction of what they actually possess." Cecilia enunciated.

"I… I don't get it can you shed more light to what you just said?"

Cecilia then explained that all that he thought the Louison's possessed in the country was just one percent of their entire wealth.

They were richer than anyone could possibly imagine.

This revelation and realization got Adrian McCain really astonished to the point he became dizzy and lightheaded, it was too much for him to take in.
