CHAPTER ELEVEN

Leon sat at his desk, his hands clenched into fists, the recent accusations against him weighing heavily on his mind. The headlines accusing him of domestic violence played over and over in his head. His name, once synonymous with integrity and success, was now being dragged through the mud by a campaign of lies. The memory of Lena’s trembling voice echoed in his mind, her doubt cutting deeper than any dagger.

"Trust me, Lena. Please," he had pleaded, but her hesitation had told him everything he needed to know. His heart sank under the weight of the false allegations, and now he found himself in a race against time to prove his innocence and win back the trust he was losing. He couldn’t afford to fail.

His phone buzzed, pulling him out of his thoughts. It was a call from Alan, his closest friend and the only board member who had publicly voiced his belief in Leon’s innocence. Leon hesitated for a second before picking up the call.
