Mortal limit demon appears

"Atleast this will cover up your injury ". Vera got up from her kneeling position and patted Nero slightly on his back.

Torn clothes were wrapped around the claws marks on his stomach and the injuries had stopped bleeding.

The pain was still there and the wounds were still hot and quite itchy.

"After the invasion , you need to visit the healer to avoid contamination ". Vera patted her blood stained dress as she picked up the sword on the ground and waved it slightly in the air.

"Yeah but I have to survive till then ". Nero rolled his eyes slightly as he tried to stand up from the ground.

"Ouch !!". Nero groaned painfully but he still gritted his teeth and stood up from the ground.

Nero was looking really tattered with those roughly bandaged wounds and it was his shirt that was torn into several pieces to dress his wounds so he was currently shirtless with three rows of torn clothes roughly wrapped around his upper body.

"My bow ". Nero stretched his hand towards Ted and Ted quickly passed him his bow .

"Nero , mind telling me how you learnt to use a bow and your combat skills were really not the Nero I know". Vera approached Nero and looked at him suspiciously.

"Yeah Nero , how did you become so good man ?". Ted was also curious because he knew how terrible Nero was in combat classes.

Infact , he had better scores than Nero in combat classes and that showed how terrible Nero was in combat classes.

"Well , it's probably due to the life threatening situation ". Nero shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly and said.

"My potential got activated at the last moment and I became a combat genius ". Nero concluded with a slight chuckle.

"Oh really?". Vera raised her eyebrows slightly because she did not believe any of those words.

"That jump when you got cornered was not a simple potential explosion ". Vera tapped her finger on the chest of Nero slightly.

"Even I wouldn't think of such solution quickly ". Vera smirked and said slowly.

"So Vera , Nero is considered on par with you in terms of close combat ?". Ted asked with curiosity because the evaluation from Vera was really high.

Ted got really curious because Vera was considered best in close combat and the use of sword in their entire class.

Nobody came close to her as she seemed to be a naturally born warrior.

"I will take Nero with one hand anyday " Vera said with disdain.

"Okay, okay, we still need to figure out how to proceed from here ". Nero waved his hand slightly.

"The noise here might have already caught the attention of a demon ".

"But there is no demon here yet ". Ted objected.

"We can't still rule out the option ". Vera said with exasperation.

"The question is , how do we proceed from here ?". Nero looked around and asked.

"For now , we have an injured you who have lost most of your combat prowess and ..". Vera looked at Ted briefly while shaking her head.

"A burden with a zero combat power ".

"Hey ! , I can fight !". Ted immediately objected.

"Yeah I know ". Vera said disdainfully.

"From here , the nearest underground shelter is still the school and it would take several minutes for us to reach the location. Within those minutes , we are likely to get attacked by demons". Vera continued.

"The fact also remains that your injury have affected your pace ".

"Well , I can still manage and run ". Nero said slowly.

"But not fast enough ". Vera shook her head and said.

"If we leave here , fast pace coupled with extreme vigilance are the key factors of us quickly reaching the school again ".

"Maybe the invasion have already alerted the warriors in the lower city ". Ted suddenly said and the eyes of everyone immediately lit up.

"If the veteran adventurers have already engaged those demons then , our journey to the school will be smoother ". Vera nodded slightly.

"So the plan is to go to the school as quickly as possible ". Nero asked .

"Yeah , as fast as possible in order to avoid engaging in any battle again ". Vera nodded slightly and sheathed her sword while holding an axe in one hand.

"Alright". Nero nodded slowly as he adjusted his quiver and picked the arrows that scattered on the ground and placed them in his quiver again.

Nero also picked the short sword on the ground and strapped them to his laps again.

"A pity we can't sell the body of this demon ". Vera looked at the dead demon with some regret on her face.

If not for the fact that dragging the body of the demon would have affected his mobility , she would have loved to carry the body of the demon along with her.

"Can you still walk ?". Ted asked Nero with worry on his face.

"Don't worry, I can still do alot of things ". Nero smiled and patted the back of Ted.

Nero drew the bow for a couple of times before nodding his head slightly in approval.

Elastic enough!.

"Are we set to go ?". Vera who was beside the body of the demon turned around and asked.

"Yes , let's move ". Nero nodded slightly.

"Victory to the humans !". Ted stretched his clenched fist outwards.

"Victory to the humans !". Vera and Nero reciprocated as they hurried towards the entrance of the restaurant that was now destroyed.

"Damn !". Nero who came out from the restaurant saw the state of the street and could not help but curse out loudly.

Dead bodies were littered across the entire street and many buildings were completely destroyed. Torn human parts could be seen across the entire street and blood was flowing like a river.

"Quick , follow me !!". The urgent voice of Vera brought everyone back to the present reality as they bent their figures rushed through the empty street with haste.

They took several shortcuts as they avoided the major roads.

On one occasion , they nearly ran into one demon who was still eating his prey but they were quick to avoid the demon.

After running for several minutes , they approched the location of the school but Vera who was at the front suddenly stopped.

"A mortal limit demon !!". The voice of Vera trembled intensely as a horrifying aura suddenly shrouded the bodies of everyone present.
