Chapter 007: Roommate

Chapter 007: Roommate

Terry was surprised by the rules in the Debt System. This is crazy. This game was crazy. The prize offered was very high, but the risk was also very high. The stakes were life. Honestly, this was the first time he had heard of a game like this.

Terry stayed in place, unable to move his body at all. It was as if he was fixated on what he heard. His mind suddenly went nowhere.

Terry didn't even notice that there was an officer in an eagle mask who put a special watch on his wrist.

"For now, you can rest in one of the "rooms" we have provided. One "room" consists of 4 people. And we have already determined the groups. I request that you do not make any noise. Have a good rest everyone."

Marissa came down from the stage, along with Zayne and the other black-hooded man who had been silent during the opening ceremony.

Seeing Terry, who was silent like a body that had lost its soul, Ben patted Terry's back. Terry gasped in surprise and turned his head to the left.

"Ben?"

"What are you waiting for? Come on, let's go to the room to rest," he said as he pulled Terry's hand. He almost fell down.

"Ben, just slow down. I don't want to fall."

"I can't. I want to rest in our room right away."

"Rest? Then why are you pulling me? What's going on?" Terry asked confused.

Earlier, he didn't listen to what Marissa was saying because he was too focused on his own thoughts.

"We're a team, Terry. Don't you see that blue bracelet on your left wrist?"

Terry turned his attention to his left hand. Just as Ben had said, there was a light blue bracelet coiled there. And a watch on his left hand.

"How can you be sure that you're in the same group as me? I mean, there could be a similar color."

"There is only one blue color. I've checked everyone here." Ben continued to drag Terry to rest in the room prepared by the Debt System.

"Oh, okay," Terry no longer asked and chose to follow the man with heterochromia eyes quietly.

The second room turned out to be at the very corner of the N109 area. Terry was dumbfounded at the room they would be staying in for the next three months.

"Oh my. So this is where we'll be staying?" Ben asked in a surprised tone.

The room provided by the Debt System was not a real room but an animal-sized cell that was spacious enough to be used as a room, with four mattresses lined up neatly there.

"God, I don't know whether to be happy or sad to see this place," Ben continued with a small cry. This was no different from prison.

"Hah, the important thing is that we can sleep without getting hot or caught in the rain," Terry replied in a tired voice. He went into the cell and laid down on the edge of the mattress, which was directly facing the wall.

Terry didn't want to complain because it was his choice to participate in this game. He missed his daughter. So, he decided he would call Daisy.

"Wait, where's my cell phone?" Terry let out a small squeal when he couldn't find the electronic object in his pocket. His face turned pale, with bated breath.

"They took it," Ben replied to the question, then lay down on the bed next to Terry.

"Who are you referring to?"

"The guards on duty in this game." Ben closed his eyes using his arm. "They took our cell phones when we put these watches and bracelets on."

"Why didn't I realize that?"

"That's because you were busy with your own thoughts." Ben scolded.

"Ah..." Terry had no more words to say in response to Ben's words. His mouth was locked tight.

Not long after, two strangers entered the cell the two were in. Their appearance was quite striking.

"Hey, so we're going to be roommates?" Asked the blond man with amber eyes that were so alluring. He had a European-like face. His body was tall and large. In addition, he also wore a long x-shaped earring in his right ear.

"Yes, of course we'll be roommates and also in the same group. Don't you see the color of the bracelets we're wearing?" Said the man, who had a typical Korean face. He had small fox-like eyes with thick duck-like lips.

"I was just asking. Why are you getting angry?"

"It's because you're asking unnecessary questions."

"I'm just curious!"

"Stop yelling. You're ruining my ears!

"You-"

"Ehem," Terry cleared his throat softly as he felt that the atmosphere was not conducive. The two men who had been arguing stopped what they were doing. Both looked at Terry with blinking eyes.

"Oh, it's finally quiet."

Ben removed the hand that was on his ear. He got up from his bed to approach the two men who had just made a scene.

"Do you guys have the same blue bracelet as me?" Ben raised his right hand. Showing the light blue bracelet that was wrapped around it.

"That's right." The fox-eyed man answered quickly. He showed his own wrist that had a bracelet of the same color as Ben's. "My name is Daniel. I'm from South Korea."

"My name is Kai," the amber-eyed man began to introduce himself. He also showed his bracelet. "What about you?"

"I'm Ben. And my friend over there is Terry." Ben pointed at Terry, who was sitting on the bed. "Terry, come here. Let's get acquainted with the others."

"Huh, troublesome," Terry muttered under his breath, but approached the trio anyway.

"Well, since everyone has gathered, from now on, we will be roommates. I hope we get along and don't make any noise that disturbs the rest of the group, okay?" Ben said with a faint smile.

"Well, I wouldn't make noise if he didn't keep asking stupid questions," Daniel pointed at Kai casually. Kai frowned.

"Hey, why me?"

"See? He even keeps asking useless questions." Daniel gave a mocking smile, which offended Kai a little.

"You..."

"Hey, instead of you guys arguing like that, let's think about the mission we're going to receive," Terry interjected between Daniel and Kai.

"Who's arguing? I just wanted to defend myself because he kept mocking me," Kai retorted unhappily.

"I'm not mocking you. I'm stating the truth," Daniel retorted, not to be outdone. He shifted his gaze to Terry, who was currently putting his hands in his pockets. "What's your MBTI?"

Terry furrowed his brow. "Me? I'm an INTJ. Why do you ask?"

"Oh, it's appropriate that your style of speech is frontal and cold," Daniel commented.

"What? What does this have to do with -"

PLAYERS, PLEASE CHECK YOUR WATCHES TO COMPLETE YOUR FIRST MISSION. THANK YOU.

The announcement sound coming from the speakers installed in every corner rang out loudly. The four men followed the instructions to check their watches.

"Huh? Why is the challenge?"

"They're seriously making this the first challenge for the debt system.""

"Gosh, what were they thinking?"
