Based on the weather reports from earlier that day, it was stated that there were low chances of a storm happening. Because of this, everyone in the city went about living their lives, not having to worry about a sudden storm appearing out of the blue to ruin their plans for a perfect day.
However, based on the current event that was taking place, it seemed as though the weather forecast channels were wrong on their predictions.A few more seconds later, and the shock of lightning had ended, and with it, everyone who had been hit was barely managing to cling unto consiousness. As a matter of fact, they were glad that they weren't just killed by the lightning strike."What…? Was that?" Blake was the first to ask, being the one who was still able to somewhat move his body after the ordeal. The lightning had left his clothes somehwt scorched, though no important parts had been burnt off. Then, there was his hair, he wasn't sure if he was imagining it, but he could pick up on the smell of burning hair and flesh. Still, that wasn't quite what was worrying his mind at that moment.'Why on Earth would a bolt of lightning strike us?! Right in the building?!' he thought, racking his brain to think of a reasonable explanation. 'Could this be the wrath of Thor? It must be! He must be mad at these two for being so weak and pathetic!'But, if that's the case, why did it also strike me? Make Thor missed and had struck me by mistake. But wait. Thou doesn't make mistakes! He is a freaking demigod! Maybe it is just me. Maybe I am weak as well,' he thought, his head hung low in shame."Well, then. If I'm weak, then why don't I just train hard enough to become strong? And I know two people who ahave already volunteered themselves to help me with that," he said to himself, turning his attention to two other students who were laying on the floor as well.At this time, people from other parts of the building quickly rushed towards the source of the noise. Once the teachers had left, the students quickly followed behind them as well despite being told to stay back in their classes.A lot of people were interested in what happened. And even agencies such as the fire fighters had been called to put out any fires that must've broke out during the flash of lightning that struck the building. Now, the hallway was filled with people, all looking at the three students laying on the floor, their bodies scorched by lightning."Quick! Somebody take then to the clinic!" One of the teachers shouted, and a couple of students had stepped forward to do just that. As their bodies were being carried away, a lot of the students were still tailing them, murmuring loudly and even pulling out their phones to record what was going on."What the fuck? What happened to Blake? Why does he look like that piece of stake I left in the iven for too long the other day?""I know, right? Just look at him. It's so sad. I wonder if he's still alive.""I spoke with some of the students who were here first. They confirmed that he was still breathing.""Bruh, I honestly wish he was dead. Wouldn't this whole school be better off without an asshole like him around?"The students kept on murmuring to themselves about how they felt about the situation. Once the three students had been taken to the kitchen, the teacher now made it their number one priority to get all these students back into their classes to resume lessons for the day._________'Where… where am I?' Hakim thought, raising his hand to tap his head lightly. 'Why does my head hurt so much? What happened?' he wondered, looking left and right.'So I ended up here in the end, huh? Guess it's still better than death,' he mused, feeling the soreness all across his body. Not long after, and the door to the clinic had clicked open, and stepping in was a woman with long ginger hair and brown eyes wearing the standard nurse outfit. In her hands was a tablet which she would use around here, making sure that her patients' health status were constantly being monitored and managed."Let's see now. Aahh, it seems like that Hakim kid got up and left on his own. It's a shame. He hasn't fully recovered. He might pass out during class and they would have to bring him back here again," she said, walking towards the clinic beds."But, it seems like these two decided to stay. It'll be good for them to recover fully before heading back out to class," she thought to herself. At this point in time, although man had yet to undergo the great change, the human body, overtime, had develop a faster healing rate that it was capable of in the past. As such, despite the severe injuries they had incurred, they would be fully healed and be allowed to go back to class within the hour. However, upon realizing that Hakim was nowhere to be seen, the nurse couldn't help but worry about him.Meanwhile, Hakim had fallen back to sleep, not hearing what she had just said.___________'I still can't believe what happened to me that day,' current Hakim thought.___________Later that day, he had woken up, however, he immediately realized that the room was dark. The windows were shut, preventing any form of light from entering."Hey, where is everyone?" His gaze then shifted towards the bed parallel to his own, abd he noticed that they were both empty. "Hold on, for how long was I asleep?'A number of thought were running through his head, but first, he would need to find his way out of the clinic if he would wish to find any answers to his questions. He walked towards the lightswitch placed on the wall, flicking it backwards to give the room more light. The only reason he was able to tell that he was the only one in the room was because his eyes were able to slightly perceive objects, even in the dark. Now that he had a much brighter view of the room, be walked towards the door, and as he pulled against the handle, he realized that it had been locked.'Now what?' He thought, walking back to the bed. 'What am I meant to do now?'While he was contemplating this, somewhere in the building, two individuals who had their faces covered we're currently scavenging through files in the principal's office, searching for something of importance to them."Haven't you found it yet?" One of them asked the other, growing impatient of the other's inability to get the job done quickly. "We've been at it for over five minutes now. If you don't hurry up, your dad's gonna find out that you're not home and that you used his keys to sneak in here."The other student, still moving aside documents which were nearly arranged in a metal filing cabinet, didn't respond until his eyes fell on something of interest."Don't you think I know that? If only the teachers weren't so strick on us, we wouldn't have to do what we're doing now," he responded."Well don't forget that your dad doesn't keep any copies. He doesn't even use a computer in here. Everything's in ink and paper, making our job a whole lot easier," the other one added. "We get rid of these results, and the teacher would definitely make us retake that test! Haha! It's too easy."Once they had found what they were looking for, they quickly arranged every document the way they had seen them before their arrival. Exiting through the door, they were in a rush to get to the entrance and leave the building. On their way down the hallway, they had stumbled across someone else who was still in the building."Hey, have you seen that guy before? I don't think I've seen him in this building before," one of them said to the other, turning his head to whisper in his ear. "Does this now mean we're caught?"The other student was also wondering the same thing as they both started at the man standing in front of them."What are you to children doing here? Don't you know it's not safe for kids like you to be in a place like this at night by yourselves?" The man asked, as he began to walk forward, startling the both of them."Hey! Come on, man! We really don't wanna get in trouble. What can we do to make you keep quiet. You see Carl here? He's the principal's son. He can pay you money. Just name a price. Whatever amount you want, he's got ya!" The boy said nervously, knodging his friend with his elbow.________I hope you all enjoyed the chapter.Let me see if I can post the second chapter today.Although these two students were unsure of what to do, they were quite sure of one thing. The fact that someone who worked at the school had spotted them, definitely meant that they would be getting into trouble. As such, one of them was hoping that they would be able to bribe the man to keep his mouth shut."Hey, man. What's up? Why are you…?" One of then trained off in his speech,as the man began to laugh ominously. "Aren't you okay with the deal? What could you possibly want?" The boy continued to ask, sweat dripping down from his face as his body trembled, taking one slow step backwards then another."You know, the only reason I'm here is because of him, but I guess I can spare some of my time for you two," the man said, as be quickly ran forward the next second, catching both of the students off guard as they began to run in the other direction, hoping that they would somehow outrun this strange man."Don't even bother running! Your faith were sealed the moment I laid eye on you!
As the room was consumed by the bright glowing white light, no one could see a thing. Moments later, and the bright light began to dull down, and with that, came the realization that the spinning portal had stopped. Falling onto the floor, Blake and Carter were both glad to see that things had somewhat gone back to normal.Having stopped teleporting excessively, the first year students had collapsed as well, his body unmoving, laying on the floor. Looking towards the direction where the light had come from, Blake could tell that it was from this student.'Is this his ability?' he wondered, as his gaze shifted to Carter, who was still lying on the floor with his face facing the ground. 'What was he trying to achieve by doing that?'Behind a couple of the spectators' seats, after noticing that the bright light had died down, and that there was no longer a force pulling him out, Kayden decided to poke his head out from the side to see what was going on.'Blake? Carter?' Kayden was wonder
"Hakim! Get your butt over here!" A boy yelled, tossing the table that was in front of him towards the wall. Smashing into it, it made a loud noise as it fell and hit the floor, barely missing the student that was covering in fear in the corner, his body shaking non-stop as he did the best he could to look away. "I'll fucking kill you if you don't come out now!"The boy, who went by the name Hakim, had other ideas, knowing full well what would happen if he reveals himself. Using his ability, he had made himself invisible, hoping that it would be enough to keep himself safe from Blake."Too bad for you, my sense of smell will let me sniff you out in no time! I was giving you the opportunity to come out on your own, but now, you have left me with no other choice," he said, as his nose had suddenly transformed into the snout of a bloodhound. "If I find you this way, then what I planned on doing to you will be far worse!"Realizing that he no longer had much time to hide, his mind went in
Hakim had made it to the kitchen, and immediately, he walked towards the cabinets where the utensils were being kept. Pulling their doors open, his eyes scanned the contents of the cabinet, searching for where the knives were placed. As his eyes fell upon a set of sharp blades hung on a metallic rack, he proceeded to take out the rack holding all six of the knives in place out of the cabinet.'All of these knives look good. Should I just carry all of them? I mean, I have this bag with me that should have enough space for them all. Or should I just carried what I think would serve me the most?' he wondered, staring at all six of the knives. They were all of different shapes and sizes. Looking at a few of them, he was wondering whether they were even kitchen knives to begin with. For one, there was a knife that had a large bladed side, the area near the pointed end of the blade curving out, making it appear larger than one would expect. Then, from the area near the handle, there was a r
The world had always been a dangerous place, whether that be due to criminal, global spreading diseases, or economic crises such as global warming and food shortage. But now, there was a new crises that had hit the world by storm, one that had changed the lives of mankind drastically.Somewhere underground, there was a table where a group of people sat down on their respective chairs, and seated at the head of the table, was a young man with a scar across his right eye, with burns and cuts all over his body.He didn't wear a shirt, which gave everyone present a clear view of his battle scars all over his torso, abdomen, and shoulders. Some were already thinking if such markings could be found on every nook and cranny of his body, particularly the women, of course. His hair was dark brown and in messy curls. His hazel eyes would gaze upon everyone seated with him, his companions during these trying times. "What do you propose we do now. From the Intel we've been getting from outside,
A lot of students feared Blake for a number of reasons, the number one reason being that he was the son of the city's mayor, meaning that he had more power at his fingertips to influence things not only in the school, but in the entire city. The girls loved him because he had a lot of power to do as he wished, and also because he was one of the strongest students in their grade. The boys would usually fight each other because of petty squabbles, or if they just wished to test out each other's strength, and in most cases, Blake would come out on top, proving that he was the strongest. The other boys respected and feared him for this. Coupled with the fact that he had political support from his father, he was basically untouchable by the city's police force whenever he would go out and commit petty crimes just for the fun of it.Blake was a wildcard that didn't care about whom his actions would affect, and now, he was ready to do inflict a world of pain on the two students standing in f
